The consultant will provide input as directed by the Environment & Sustainability (E&S) Manager, Regional Industry Leads, and Lead Specialists in the South Asia region.
• Graduate/ Advanced degree in social science, international development, and sustainable development, or other relevant disciplines.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant professional Experience in Social risk management of infrastructure projects as well as development and review of safeguards documentation such as Social Impact Assessment, Compliance Audit, Resettlement Action Plan, Livelihood Restoration Plan, Socio-economic studies, and stakeholder/community engagement and consultation activities.
• Relevant experience in South Asia, experience across other developing countries will be advantageous.
• Track record in working with public and private sector clients to identify social risk and issues and develop mitigation measures to ensure compliance with good international industry practice.
• Knowledge of the IFC’s sustainability Framework, Performance Standards, supporting documents such as guidance notes, and other IFC publications on sustainability is an advantage.
• Strong analytical skills, ability to think strategically, analyze and synthesize diverse information sources, draw conclusions from sometimes limited data, and develop solutions in potentially tense or conflicting situations.
• Proficiency in English is essential.
• A good team player with strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, including the ability to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team, and network effectively across boundaries.
• Exemplary project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines

The daily rate will be determined based on the consultant's qualifications and prior experience. This is a local, short-term consulting position, with compensation set on a net basis at the C4 level.
The assignment is expected to begin in August 2025 with an estimated 75 days of work and a contract ending date of June 30, 2026. The consultant needs to be based in Delhi, India.
