About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Shopify Developer with 3–5 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, customizing, and managing Shopify stores. This role goes beyond execution – we are looking for someone who can think independently, suggest improvements, innovate, and ensure our e-commerce platforms remain technically sound, optimized, and future-ready.

You will be responsible for managing multiple Shopify stores, implementing new features, customizing themes, integrating third-party apps and solutions, and ensuring seamless daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

Website Development & Management

• Create, customize, and maintain multiple Shopify websites with a strong focus on user experience and performance.
• Develop custom features, functionalities, and Shopify apps where needed using Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and APIs.
• Customize themes to meet brand guidelines and business requirements.

Content & Catalog Management

• Upload and manage product catalogs, descriptions, images, and collections.
• Optimize product listings for SEO and conversions.
• Ensure smooth integration of product feeds across marketplaces if required.

Innovation & Improvements

• Proactively suggest and implement design, UX, and performance improvements.
• Stay up-to-date with Shopify trends, tools, and ecosystem changes.
• Recommend and integrate new apps, logistics, inventory, and payment solutions to enhance efficiency.

Technical Monitoring & Maintenance

• Conduct daily technical health checks of websites (speed, broken links, checkout flow, app integrations).
• Monitor and resolve bugs, performance issues, and security concerns quickly.
• Ensure mobile responsiveness, cross-browser compatibility, and ADA compliance where applicable.

Integrations & Automation

• Integrate third-party systems for logistics, shipping, inventory management, CRM, and analytics.
• Work with APIs to connect external systems (ERP, marketing automation, etc.) with Shopify.

Collaboration & Strategy

• Work closely with design, marketing, and operations teams to implement campaigns and product launches.
• Provide technical input and feasibility assessments for business ideas.
• Document processes, maintain version control (Git), and follow structured workflows.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Core Shopify Skills (Must-Have)

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Shopify and Shopify Plus.
• Strong proficiency in Shopify Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), JSON, AJAX, and REST APIs.
• Proven experience in Shopify theme development and customization.
• Familiarity with Shopify CLI, Git, and modern development workflows.
• Ability to integrate and manage third-party apps, APIs, and custom solutions (logistics, inventory, CRM, payments).
• Understanding of SEO principles, site performance optimization, and analytics tools.
• End-to-end e-commerce operations knowledge – from catalog uploads to checkout integration.
• Strong problem-solving and innovation mindset, with ability to go beyond execution and suggest improvements.

Extended Skills (Preferred / Good-to-Have)

• React.js – useful for Shopify Hydrogen or headless commerce projects.
• Node.js – for building custom Shopify apps or advanced middleware.
• Analytics tools – Shopify Analytics, GA4, Hotjar, or similar for monitoring and reporting.
• SQL / Data handling skills – for advanced reporting and dashboards.
• ERP / CRM / Logistics integration experience.
• UX/UI sensibility – ability to recommend improvements for user experience and design alignment.
