Core Purpose Of The Role

This role supports the Instrumentation and Automation function within Biologics Manufacturing and Process Development. It ensures GMP-compliant maintenance, real-time monitoring, and control of critical systems. The role demands hands-on expertise in instrumentation, automation platforms, and compliance documentation to ensure operational excellence and audit readiness.Role Accountabilities
  • Primary Responsibilities:
Adherence to safe practices and procedures for self and team
Exposure to bioreactor instrumentation, aseptic processing, and environmental monitoring systemsExecution of preventive maintenance of field instruments and control systemsEnsuring safety and compliance with EHS protocols and Syngene quality standardsStrong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
  • Specific Responsibilities:
Maintain facility and equipment in GMP-compliant state
Support FAT/SAT, commissioning, and validation of instrumentationInterface with PLCs, SCADA, and DCS systems for real-time monitoring and controlTroubleshoot signal issues (4–20 mA, HART, Modbus) and coordinate with automation teamsInstall, calibrate, and maintain sensors, transmitters, analyzers, and control instrumentsMaintain SOPs, calibration logs, and change control documentationParticipate in deviation investigations, CAPA closure, and risk assessmentsExecute breakdown activities as per shift schedulesLead root cause analysis and reliability initiativesRecommend upgrades or replacements based on lifecycle cost and performance metricsPlan and execute maintenance and qualification activitiesEnsure vendor compliance with internal safety standards during maintenance tasksIdentify and maintain critical spares inventorySyngene ValuesAll employees will consistently demonstrate alignment with our core values

Experience - FoundationalHands-on experience in biopharma or pharmaceutical manufacturingProficiency in calibration tools, HART communicators, and CMMS platformsExperience with cleanroom instrumentation, BMS, and utility systems (WFI, HVAC, steam)

Skills And Capabilities
