Service Manager

Position Overview

• We are hiring a

  hardcore Refrigeration Engineer

  to take full ownership of

  repair, maintenance, and technical service operations

  for our

  refrigerated container fleet across India

  .
• This is not a desk job. We’re looking for someone who understands

  reefer units like Thermo King, Daikin, Carrier

  inside out, can

  troubleshoot on the spot

  , handle

  customer escalations

  , and

  lead a pan-India field service team

  . If you're the guy vendors call when no one else can fix it — you're who we want.

Key Responsibilities

Reefer Machine Expertise & Field Support

• Diagnose and repair faults in reefer container units (Thermo King, Daikin, Carrier)
• Provide

  24/7 service coverage

  , ensuring minimal downtime across locations
• Perform

  head load assessments

  and validate cooling performance
• Standardize SOPs for installation, commissioning, and temperature mapping
• Train and lead junior technicians and third-party service engineers

Client-Facing Technical Support

• Act as the

  first responder for technical complaints or breakdowns

• Visit customer sites to inspect and resolve issues directly
• Provide clear, confident explanations to clients — especially during temperature loss events
• Build trust by delivering

  fast, accurate, and professional resolutions

Spare Parts, Vendors & AMC Oversight

• Manage vendor relationships and AMC contracts across regions
• Ensure

  critical spares

  are always available and cost-effective
• Coordinate vendor performance and ensure

  strict adherence to TATs

• Track service history, component failures, and ensure preventive action

Technical Input & Documentation

• Support the leasing/sales team with

  pre-sales technical validation

• Provide input on

  container specs, retrofitting options, and cooling configurations

• Maintain accurate

  technical documentation, service logs, and fault records

• Contribute to internal knowledge base with

  RCA reports and CAPA strategies

Service Reporting & Quality

• Monitor breakdown patterns, root causes, and solution effectiveness
• Report weekly metrics:

  downtime %, first-time fix rate, complaint closure TAT

• Own

  service quality audits

  and corrective actions
• Build feedback loops to reduce repeat complaints and improve SOPs

Must-Have Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma/Degree in Refrigeration, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering

• Minimum

  5 years hands-on experience in reefer container service

  (not just HVAC or cold rooms)
• In-depth understanding of

  reefer unit electronics, compressors, sensors, and refrigerant systems

• Familiarity with

  brand-specific diagnostics

  (Thermo King Wintrac, Carrier DataCold, etc.)
• Experience working with

  cold chain clients

  — pharma, food, logistics, etc.
• Strong communication skills — both field instructions and client-facing
• Willingness to

  travel on short notice

  , and respond during emergency breakdowns
