Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Senior Trader / Portfolio Manager to lead trading strategies across equities, derivatives, and multi-asset portfolios. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing CAT III AIF, PMS, or proprietary trading books, with strong expertise in systematic, quant-driven, and discretionary strategies.

This role combines strategy design, execution, risk management, and mentoring, and offers the opportunity to drive alpha generation in a high-performance investment environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage long-short equity, volatility, and derivative strategies with a focus on delivering risk-adjusted returns.
• Execute trades across equities, derivatives, fixed income, and/or commodities as per portfolio mandates.
• Develop and enhance systematic/quantitative trading models using tools such as Python, R, or VBA.
• Conduct macroeconomic, sectoral, and stock-specific research to identify opportunities.
• Monitor and manage portfolio risk, exposures, and compliance with SEBI/regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with research, quant, and investment teams to integrate market insights into trading strategies.
• Maintain strong relationships with brokers, exchanges, and counterparties.
• Mentor and guide junior traders and analysts to build trading expertise and execution discipline.
• Provide regular performance updates and strategy reviews to the CIO/Investment Committee.

Skills & Competencies:

• Proven track record in prop desk trading, hedge funds, PMS, or CAT III AIF environments.
• Strong expertise in volatility trading, derivatives, relative value, dispersion, and quant strategies.
• Solid understanding of risk management principles and hedging strategies.
• Proficiency in market analytics tools (Bloomberg, Reuters, trading platforms).
• Strong quantitative/programming skills (Python, R, VBA preferred).
• Ability to combine quantitative models with discretionary and fundamental insights.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.

Qualifications:

• MBA / CFA / CA / Master’s in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Quantitative fields.
• 10–15 years of experience in trading, portfolio management, or fund management.
• Demonstrated ability to manage institutional/HNI portfolios with consistent alpha generation.
