Lead Test Engineer

Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India-Hybrid

We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer with a specialization in Mobile Web Testing to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for testing and ensuring the quality, performance, and responsiveness of our mobile web applications across multiple devices and browsers. You will collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and UX/UI designers to deliver flawless digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Mobile Web Testing: Execute manual and automated tests on mobile web applications across various devices (iOS, Android) and browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.) to ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility

Test Planning & Strategy: Develop and document detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for mobile web applications. Define testing objectives, scope, and criteria for release.

Bug Reporting & Tracking: Identify, report, and track issues found during testing. Work with development teams to resolve defects and validate fixes.

Performance & Usability Testing: Perform performance testing, including load and stress testing, and usability assessments to ensure optimal speed, responsiveness, and user experience.

Collaboration: Work closely with development teams, product owners, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and contribute to the design and development process.

Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with industry best practices, tools, and trends in mobile web testing to enhance our testing processes and tools.

Reporting & Documentation: Provide regular test reports, metrics, and updates to the team and management. Maintain comprehensive documentation of test cases, processes, and findings.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of mobile web testing techniques, tools, and best practices

Proficiency in manual and automated testing processes

Strong understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).

Familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar

Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to identify even the smallest issues.

Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and approach challenges methodically.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly to both technical and non-technical team members.

Nice to Have

Experience with mobile testing frameworks (e.g., Appium, BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, etc.)

Experience testing Progressive Web Apps (PWAs).

Knowledge of mobile performance testing tools.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating testing into them.
