About The Team
Store Acceleration Org oversees multiple engineering teams, including BES team. This team tackles a wide range of engineering challenges aimed at driving the company's top-line growth. We collaborate closely with Analytics teams and Enterprise Services, leveraging data to identify solutions that deliver the best impact on revenue. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse engineering problems with the flexibility to explore and implement the most effective strategies.
Job Summary
The primary purpose of this role is to translate business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs and to deliver code modules, stable application systems, and software solutions. This includes developing, configuring, or modifying integrated business and/or enterprise application solutions within various computing environments. This role will be working closely with stakeholders and cross-functional departments to communicate project statuses and proposals.
Core Responsibilities
- Design & Develop Scalable Backend Systems – Build and maintain high-performance, secure, and scalable backend services using Java (Spring Boot/Micronaut) or Node.js.
- REST API Development – Design and implement well-structured, efficient, and secure RESTful APIs to support various business use cases.
- Data-Driven Decision Making – Work with data analytics teams to analyze trends, extract insights, and make informed engineering decisions that impact business growth.
- Optimize Performance & Scalability – Continuously improve system performance by optimizing database queries, caching strategies, and distributed processing techniques.
- Problem-Solving & Innovation – Tackle diverse engineering challenges by identifying and implementing the most effective solutions across different domains.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with Analytics, Enterprise Services, and other teams to develop solutions that maximize revenue impact and business efficiency.
- Microservices & Distributed Systems – Architect and maintain scalable microservices-based solutions, ensuring reliability and fault tolerance.
- Cloud & Infrastructure Management – Leverage cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes) to deploy and manage applications efficiently.
- Security & Compliance – Implement robust authentication, authorization, and security best practices to safeguard data and systems.

Skill Set Required
- Programming & Frameworks - (Spring Boot, Micronaut), (Express, NestJS)
- API Development & Architecture - RESTful API design & development, GraphQL, GRPC (optional but useful), API security (OAuth2, JWT, OpenID Connect)
- Database Management
- SQL Databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- NoSQL Databases (MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra), Query optimization & indexing strategies
- Cloud & DevOps - Containerization & orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines
- Messaging & Event-Driven Architecture - Kafka, RabbitMQ, SNS/SQS, WebSocket's & Server-Sent Events (SSE)
- Scalability & Performance Optimization - Caching mechanisms (Redis, Memcached), Load balancing & distributed systems, Profiling & monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
- Data Processing & Analytics- SQL queries & data transformations, Streaming data processing (Apache Flink, Spark, Kafka Streams), Basic knowledge of machine learning integration (nice to have)
- Security & Compliance - Secure coding practices
Required Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years of experience writing technical documentation in a software environment and developing and implementing business systems within an organization
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree).
