About The Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to join us in Chandigarh as part of the team building our Spire platform, a SaaS application that powers critical financial services around the globe. You will work on high-performance backend systems that enable our clients to trade and manage assets more effectively, contributing directly to the evolution of our technology offering.In this role, you will collaborate closely with product leads, engineers, and client-facing teams to design, build, and scale backend services that form the backbone of our platform. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your expertise in Java and microservices to a fast-paced environment where your work has visible impact on global markets.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
- Build and optimise RESTful APIs that integrate seamlessly with internal systems and external services.
- Write efficient SQL queries and apply database optimisation skills for high-volume financial systems.
- Apply strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns to deliver clean and maintainable code.
- Contribute to architecture discussions and help shape the technical roadmap for the Spire platform.
- Implement best practices including unit testing, code reviews, CI/CD automation, and troubleshooting live production systems.
- Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and support teams to ensure high-quality releases.
- Mentor junior developers and share knowledge across the engineering team.
What We’re Looking For
- 4+ years of commercial experience in Java development, with strong hands-on expertise in Spring Boot.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, database design, and performance tuning.
- Proven experience designing and delivering microservices and REST APIs at scale.
- Solid foundation in object-oriented programming, algorithms, and data structures.
- Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit or Mockito, and build tools like Maven or Gradle.
- Familiarity with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and version control (Git).
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively.
- Exposure to front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, or React is an advantage.
