We are seeking a highly skilled
Senior ServiceNow Developer
with strong expertise in
Security Operations (SecOps)
. The role involves leading the design, development, and implementation of
security-centric solutions
on the ServiceNow platform. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with both out-of-the-box and custom SecOps functionalities, custom catalog development, integrations, and collaboration with SOC/security teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of ServiceNow SecOps modules:
- Security Incident Response (SIR)
- Vulnerability Response (VR)
- Threat Intelligence (TI)
- Develop and customize Service Catalog items with dynamic forms, workflows, and automation.
- Configure and enhance out-of-the-box SecOps functionalities and build custom solutions when required.
- Collaborate with SOC teams, security analysts, and stakeholders to gather and refine requirements.
- Write client-side and server-side scripts including:
- Business Rules
- Script Includes
- UI Policies
- Client Scripts
- Scheduled Jobs
- Design and implement REST/SOAP integrations with third-party security tools.
- Apply secure development practices, enforce RBAC, and configure ACLs.
- Contribute to Agile development processes, mentor junior developers, and support team delivery.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for solutions, configurations, and changes.
Required Skills & Experience
- Hands-on expertise with ServiceNow SecOps modules (SIR, VR, TI).
- Proven ability to develop and automate workflows (Flow Designer / Workflow Editor).
- Strong proficiency in ServiceNow scripting (JavaScript), including Business Rules, Script Includes, and UI scripting.
- Experience integrating with security platforms using REST/SOAP APIs.
- Knowledge of RBAC, ACLs, and secure development best practices.
- Familiarity with Scoped Applications, update sets, and lifecycle management.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong communication skills to bridge technical and business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - SecOps.
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator.
- Knowledge of threat frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, STIX/TAXII).
- Familiarity with vulnerability and risk scoring standards (CVSS, NVD).
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Tenable, Qualys, Splunk, CrowdStrike, etc.
Role Proficiency & Outcomes
- Deliver high-quality code adhering to standards, design patterns, and best practices.
- Participate in design reviews, testing, and release processes.
- Optimize efficiency, cost, and quality in development.
- Mentor peers, contribute to team engagement, and reduce technical debt.
- Support the Project Manager with inputs for planning, effort estimation, and execution.
Must Have
- ServiceNow, SecOps, OOB, Workflow.
- Strong scripting (JavaScript, client/server-side).
- Proven SecOps implementation experience.
- Excellent stakeholder communication.
Nice to Have
- ServiceNow SecOps certifications.
- Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK, STIX/TAXII, CVSS/NVD.
