Job Description

The Senior Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth, market share, and distribution expansion in the multiple states through effective channel management, team leadership, and distributor partnerships in the General Trade (GT) segment.


Responsibilities

1. Sales & Business Development

  • Achieve primary and secondary sales targets for the region.
  • Drive numeric and weighted distribution across all key markets.
  • Identify and onboard new distributors and channel partners.
  • Ensure effective coverage of all GT channels – wholesalers, retailers, and sub-distributors.
  • Implement regional trade promotions and schemes in alignment with central strategy.


2. Team Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Area Sales Managers (ASMs), Sales Officers (SOs), and Territory Sales Executives (TSEs).
  • Monitor team performance through regular reviews, market visits, and feedback sessions.
  • Ensure strong market execution through beat planning and daily tracking.


3. Market Execution & Expansion

  • Strengthen the Beyond Snack presence in key cities and emerging markets across.
  • Drive visibility and merchandising initiatives at the point of sale.
  • Develop and execute plans for new product launches in the region.


4. Distributor & Channel Management

  • Appoint and manage a network of distributors with healthy ROI and inventory hygiene.
  • Ensure adherence to credit policies, stock norms, and timely collections.
  • Review distributor performance monthly and take corrective actions as needed.


5. Analytics & Reporting

  • Analyse sales data, market trends, and competitor activity to guide strategy.
  • Prepare monthly MIS reports on sales performance, schemes, and key market updates.
  • Share insights and recommendations with the Head Office team for strategic decisions.

  • Strong understanding of FMCG General Trade operations.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Analytical and data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • High ownership, execution excellence, and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, growing startup environment.


Qualifications

  • MBA in Sales, Marketing, or Business Management from premium institute
  • 3 – 12 years of FMCG sales experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of managing General Trade business in multiple states in India.
  • Experience with snacks / food / beverage categories preferred.
