Position Overview

Senior Safety Manager

Key Responsibilities

1. Safety Planning & Implementation

• Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific safety plans, SOPs, and checklists.
• Ensure compliance with SHE policies and statutory safety requirements.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure safe execution of all construction activities.

2. Site Inspections & Audits

• Conduct regular safety inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments at all sites.
• Lead internal and external safety audits and follow up on corrective/preventive actions.
• Ensure all equipment, machinery, and tools meet safety standards.

3. Compliance & Documentation

• Maintain compliance with local, state, and national safety regulations.
• Prepare and maintain safety reports, incident logs, training records, and documentation.
• Support adherence to ISO 45001 and other relevant SHE certifications.

4. Incident Management

• Lead investigations of accidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions.
• Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor closure of all incident reports and communicate findings to management.

5. Training & Safety Awareness

• Conduct safety orientation programs for new hires, contractors, and workers.
• Organize toolbox talks, safety drills, and safety awareness campaigns.
• Promote behavioral-based safety practices.

6. Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to ensure safety compliance.
• Assist in contractor safety evaluation and ensure adherence to safety standards.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities when required.

7. Emergency Preparedness

• Develop and maintain emergency response plans for project sites.
• Ensure availability of safety equipment and oversee emergency evacuation drills.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
• Mandatory certification such as

  NEBOSH / IOSH / Diploma in Industrial Safety

  .
• Minimum

  7 years of experience

  in construction, infrastructure, EPC, or industrial safety roles.
• Strong knowledge of Indian safety regulations and construction safety norms.
• Proven experience managing safety teams and controlling high-risk activities.
