The Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced
Senior
Quality Engineer
to join our team in Hyderabad. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance within a machine shop or toolroom environment, with hands-on experience in inspection tools and quality systems. You will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet customer and regulatory standards through rigorous inspection, documentation, and process audits.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all quality-related issues within the manufacturing team (internal, supplier and customer)
- Identify root cause and instigate permanent corrective actions for product quality issues
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues that arise as quickly and efficiently as possible to prevent compromising quality and safety standards
- Carry out product and process auditing
- Ensure control plans and associated documentation are implemented effectively and maintained
- Monitor and report on quality-related key performance indicators including scrap monitoring, rework levels, Parts quality figures
- Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management system (ISO9001)
- Assist with training of quality awareness, Train both team and broader organisation members
- Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process or system
- Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Six-Sigma, Kaizen and Measurement System Analysis
- Support and lead process improvement activities
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
- Support regular inspection meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to establish an action plan for improving build quality
Essential
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, with 10 – 12 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing shops or tool rooms.
- 10-12 years of hands-on experience in quality engineering within industrial toolroom and machine shop environments.
- Proficient in using precision measuring instruments such as CMM, Height Master, and Vision Inspection Systems.
- In-depth knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and application of 7 Quality Tools.
- Familiar with ISO and QS management systems, including participation in internal and external audits.
- Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
- Lean Manufacturing knowledge
- Planning and prioritising activities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk and hear.
- Specific vision abilities required for the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
