Job Title: Senior PPC Engineer

Department: Production Planning & Control

Reporting To: Director

Job Purpose:

To lead and manage comprehensive production planning and control functions to ensure on-time delivery, optimized machine utilization, and smooth workflow across casting, machining, and heat-treatment operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Scheduling

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans as per customer orders and plant capacity.

Plan machine loading, manpower allocation, and shift scheduling.

Coordinate with melting, moulding, machining, and heat treatment teams to maintain operational flow.

2. Cross-Functional Coordination

Work closely with Purchase, Stores, Quality, and Maintenance for raw material, consumables & tooling availability.

Ensure patterns, cores, and moulds are available as per plan.

Support dispatch and logistics for customer delivery deadlines.

3. Monitoring, Tracking & Control

Track WIP across all stages and ensure progress against plan.

Analyze bottlenecks, delays, and rework reasons; initiate corrective actions.

Review daily plan vs. actual and escalate critical deviations.

4. Inventory & Dispatch Management

Monitor raw material, consumables, and finished goods inventory.

Track aging jobs, pending orders, and delayed items.

Plan dispatch priorities based on customer schedule adherence.

5. Documentation, Data & SOP Compliance

Ensure accurate and timely ERP/SAP data entry for production, WIP & dispatch.

Follow ISO 9001:2015 procedures and internal SOPs.

Prepare MIS reports, capacity analysis, and delay reports regularly.

Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of casting, forging, steel manufacturing processes.

Expertise in capacity planning, workflow management, and production scheduling.

Proficiency in Excel & SAP/ERP systems.

Good leadership, communication & problem-solving ability.

Able to work under pressure with multiple departments.

Qualification & Experience

B.Tech / BE in Mechanical / Production / Metallurgy

Graduated from NIT or similar Tier-1 engineering institution (mandatory)

8–10 years of PPC experience in:

Steel industry

Casting industry

Forging industry

Heavy engineering (preferred)
