Senior Piping Designer

SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Piping Designer with 10–15 years of experience in the oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial sectors. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in designing complex piping systems, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards, and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality design packages.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop efficient piping layouts, modular skid designs, and equipment models in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.

• Interpret P&IDs, equipment layouts, and piping specifications to ensure accurate design execution.

• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to maintain design alignment and support seamless project integration.

• Participate in 3D model reviews, resolve discipline-related queries, and ensure design accuracy.

• Prepare MTOs and BOMs for procurement and construction planning.

• Ensure piping designs comply with applicable industry codes and standards, including ASME, ANSI, and API.

• Support Greenfield project execution from concept through detailed engineering.

• Draft and review isometric drawings and spool fabrication drawings to ensure quality and constructability.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Design/Drafting certificate (trade certificate/diploma) or minimum 10 years of relevant experience.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Plant 3D (Advanced), AutoCAD (Advanced), and Navisworks (Advanced).

• Skilled in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate).

• Strong understanding of design industry codes and EPC industry standards (Intermediate).

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Proficient in AutoCAD and Plant 3D for piping design and drafting.

• Experienced with 2D/3D modeling software used in piping and plant design.

• Strong knowledge of piping codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, API, and other relevant regulations.

• Skilled in reading and interpreting P&IDs, plot plans, isometrics, and equipment layouts.

• Good understanding of pipe stress analysis reports, material specifications, and support systems.

• Familiar with modularization concepts, including skid systems and accessibility requirements.

• Experienced in working with laser scan data for as-built modeling and design validation.

• Proficient in producing and checking piping isometric drawings.

• Experienced in P&ID walkdowns and yellow lining for design verification.

• Skilled in the creation and review of orthographic drawings for fabrication and construction.

TEAM LEADERSHIP & COMMUNICATION:

• Ability to lead and mentor junior designers.

• Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

• Conduct model reviews and provide informed design input. PROJECT & FIELD KNOWLEDGE:

• Familiarity with plant layouts and construction sequencing.

• Perform field visits, tie-in identification, and site surveys.

• Experienced in redlines, as-built documentation, and field verification.
