Role Summary

The Senior Perfumer is responsible for conceptualizing, formulating, and executing creative fragrance developments across various categories. This role demands advanced olfactory expertise, deep material knowledge, and strong market understanding. The Senior Perfumer will lead projects end-to-end, collaborate closely with clients, evaluate modifications, and guide junior perfumers and evaluators to ensure excellence in creation, stability, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create original fine fragrance and functional fragrance compositions aligned with client briefs.
  • Develop accords, reformulations, cost-optimizations, and performance-enhanced versions.
  • Manage full development cycle — ideation, formulation, evaluation, client presentation, revisions, scale-up support.
  • Evaluate raw materials for character, strength, technical performance, and compatibility.
  • Ensure regulatory adherence including IFRA compliance, allergen listings, and internal safety guidelines.
  • Work closely with evaluators, R&D, GC-MS analysts, application teams, and production for smooth execution.
  • Stay updated with market trends, olfactory directions, and competitive landscape.
  • Participate in client meetings, support fragrance storytelling, and present olfactive creations confidently.
  • Maintain organized formula records, trials, and stability testing documentation.
  • Mentor and support junior perfumers, trainees, and application chemists.
  • Support innovation initiatives, raw material research, olfactory development projects, and new molecule evaluation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in 

    Chemistry/Perfumery/Cosmetic Science/related field

     (Preferred).
  • Professional perfumery training or graduation from reputed perfumery school/in-house academy.
  • 8–15+ years of perfumery experience

     in fine fragrance / consumer fragrance development.
  • Strong understanding of naturals, synthetics, aroma molecules, dosage, volatility, diffusion & balance.
  • Experience in IFRA compliance, GC-MS interpretation, formulation software, and regulatory documentation.
  • Proven portfolio of successful fragrance launches across categories.
