Job Title: Senior Manager / AGM – Rolling Mill Mechanical Operations Location: [Your Location] Department: Mechanical Maintenance – Rolling Mill Reporting To: HOD Rolling Mill Experience Required: 12–20 years in heavy industrial/mechanical operations, preferably in steel/rolling mill industries Job Purpose: To lead and manage all mechanical operations and maintenance activities in the Rolling Mill, ensuring optimal machine availability, efficiency, and production quality through proactive maintenance, process improvements, and team leadership. Key Responsibilities: Operations & Maintenance: L ead the mechanical maintenance of Rolling Mill equipment including stands, gearboxes, shears, conveyors, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems. Ensure timely preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance schedules to minimize downtime. Coordinate with production teams to support smooth and uninterrupted rolling operations. Project Execution & Improvement: Plan and execute mechanical upgrades, modifications, and installation of new equipment. Drive reliability improvement initiatives, root cause analysis (RCA), and continual improvement programs (Kaizen, TPM, etc.). Team & Vendor Management: Lead and mentor a team of engineers, supervisors, and technicians. Liaise with external vendors, contractors, and OEMs for maintenance support, parts procurement, and AMC services. Health, Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with statutory regulations and audit requirements. Implement energy conservation and sustainability practices in mechanical operations. Inventory & Cost Management: Manage spares inventory efficiently to avoid overstocking and shortages. Monitor maintenance budgets and reduce operational costs without compromising equipment reliability.
