The Senior Legal Counsel
will serve as critical team member of our in-house legal team. This role is a part of the global legal team as well as providing advice to India based internal stakeholders. As an attorney at ZS, you are expected work independently as well as collaborate with other legal team members.
What You''ll Do:
- Provide in-house legal advice in India on topics including corporate matters, employment law issues, statutory regulations, labor laws etc.
- Ensure all legal compliance is adhered in all locations ZS is operating in India and East Asia. Drafting and reviewing policies, guidelines and/ or SOPs relating to employment law
- Drafting and reviewing employee related documents like Offer Letters, Employment Contracts, Departure letter and Separation and Release Agreements. Employment handbook
- Manage POSH compliances and advice as may be required
- Evaluate and minimizes legal risk to the corporation regarding compliance with India laws and other countries in East Asia Consult and advice on various issues related to labor and employment laws in India, Singapore and Japan
- In-house advisor to ZSs payroll and HR teams on any employee or employment law matters
- Leads Employment related discussions with stakeholders in India
- Prepares content and data to review with leadership, identifying new changes in employment laws as may be relevant for ZS business
- Develop, and improve the firm''s employment related processes in alignment with policies, applicable employment law
- Work on employee data breach issues with IT team
- Drafting and vetting of Agreements with ZS vendors and managing compliance concerns for contractors
- Develops and manages training regarding best practices, implementation of methods for the resolution of employment-related concern
- Assist HR Business Partners with employee concerns, counseling, and investigations.
- Participate and influence the decision-making process with various stakeholders.
- Respond to and counsel internal stakeholders on employment risks related to specific scenarios as they arise and may affect day-to-day business operations
- Stay abreast of legal developments and ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and policies
- Draft, review, revise and negotiate legal agreements
- Partner with external counsels, consultants on employment law issues and compliances
- Establish and maintain relationships, credibility and trust with stakeholders, legal team members and other colleagues
What You''ll Bring:
- Bachelors degree required (advanced degree is a plus)
- 7+ years relevant work experience, preferably in a multinational/global professional services setting
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent project management skills and attention to detail
- High level of accuracy and trust
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and work with highly sensitive data and information
- Capability to manage multiple cases, independently prioritize and make sound decisions quickly
- Demonstrated ability to establish strong and trusting relationships with internal stakeholders like, Finance, HR business partners and business leaders
- Experience working in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in employment law
- Experience advising MNCs operating in east Asia would be a plus
