About The Role
We’re seeking a
Senior Information Designer
to join our EdTech Learning & Content Development team. This is a hands-on creative role that blends visual storytelling, graphic design, information architecture, multimedia production, and applied cognitive psychology. You will translate both complex documentation and vague training objectives into visually polished, engaging training frameworks and multimedia deliverables across a variety of formats.This position requires both big-picture design thinking and meticulous execution. The ideal candidate is an exceptional visual communicator and design perfectionist with outstanding attention to detail and skillful handling of composition, color, information architecture, continuity, and brand alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Information Visualization: Design visual frameworks for information-dense content and translate complex ideas into visually clear, digestible graphics and multimedia that align with learning goals.
- Cognitive Psychology: Apply key principles such as chunking, cognitive load, existing mental models, standardized visual cues, memory and recall tactics, information hierarchy, anchoring bias, framing, and user experience.
- Visual Systems & Brand Alignment: Develop and maintain style guides, color palettes, and iconography, consistent for scalable content production across multiple client and internal brand standards. Ensure all deliverables meet accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2) and visual UX best practices.
- Scalability & Efficiency: Contribute to the development of reusable presentation, document and course UI templates and visual or interactive elements, to enhance efficiency and support scalability.
- Creative Direction: Partner with the Learning Experience Designer to align visual design with instructional intent. Collaborate with the eLearning and XR content developers to ensure visual effectiveness, continuity, and inclusion of appropriate multimedia assets. Support video production and post-production specialists
- Design & Production of the Following Deliverables:
- Slide Decks: Highly visual and interactive PowerPoint-based presentations built with purposeful UI/UX, as well as plug-and-play presentation templates leveraging master slides and layouts, text styles, branded color pallets, etc. for scalable design consistency. You must be able to demonstrate expert proficiency in PowerPoint.
- Diagrams & Infographics: Strategically designed graphics that make complex information, processes, and data easy to understand, including flowcharts, technical diagrams, timelines, roadmaps, tables, signage systems, maps, and various styles of charts and graphs.
- Course Design: Dev-ready storyboards and UIs for eLearnings, ILT training and workshops, and immersive (AR/VR/XR) experiences, including visual mock-ups .
- Educational Content: Reference guides, job aids, interactive simulations, modular and bite-size learning resources that provide clear just-in-time, on-the-job information.
- Information Architecture: Document and training content outlines, user/learner flow maps, reworking large amounts of text-based documentation into a structured library of modular, engaging learning resources
- Video & Animation: Animated tutorials or concept introductions, explainer videos, and detailed pre-production storyboards and shot lists for live-action video shoots.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in visual, information, or communication design within a corporate, agency or consulting environment.
- Strong portfolio showcasing excellence in graphic design, structured information design, presentation design, and multimedia layout systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel, particularly around the use of masters, templates, global styles, and data visualization.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro).
- Skill in leveraging AI to assist with brainstorming, research, efficiency, QA, and technical troubleshooting.
- Strong grasp of design, communication and cognitive psychology principles.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, organization and time management skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience in L&D, instructional design, educational publishing, UX design, or technical communication design fields.
- Familiarity with Articulate Storyline and Rise, Figma, Vyond, Camtasia, or Adobe Acrobat.
- Familiarity with motion design, 3D modeling, gamification, or interactive media.
