Minimum Qualifications & Eligibility :
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in IT support, system administration, or network management.
- Proven experience working in a university or educational environment is a significant advantage.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in administering Windows Server environments (Active Directory, Group Policy).
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, Firewalls, Routers, Switches).
- Experience with
Firewall, Endpoint Protection System (EPS), and Intune Mobile Device Management (MDM) administration.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g.,
VMware vSphere
, Microsoft Hyper-V). - Familiarity with cloud computing concepts (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
- Hands-on experience with database management (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL).
- Experience with IT security best practices, antivirus solutions, and data backup strategies.
- Working knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems,
with specific experience in any Education ERP or CAMU ERP being an extra benefit.
- Experience with
Google Apps (Workspace) administration and Office 365 administration, including Microsoft Exchange Online administration.
- Knowledge and experience with
CCTV and Access Control systems.
- Experience with
Meraki Wi-Fi administration.
- Familiarity with
CRM administration.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
Desired Skills :
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate, VMware Certified Professional).
- Experience with ITIL framework or other IT service management methodologies.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation.
- Working knowledge of MAC PC’s will be an advantage.
The Senior Executive in the IT Department plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the university's technology infrastructure and services. This position involves a blend of hands-on technical support, system administration, and project coordination. The successful candidate will contribute to the strategic implementation and maintenance of IT solutions that support the academic, administrative, and research needs of the university community.
IT Operations & Support:
- Oversee daily IT operations, including network availability, server performance, and system uptime.
- Provide advanced technical support for hardware (desktops, laptops, servers, printers) and software issues for faculty, staff, and students.
Manage day-to-day IT tasks and user requests, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Implement and manage software deployment, updates, and patching across the university's systems.
Network & Infrastructure Management:
- Assist in the administration and maintenance of the university's wired and wireless networks (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi access points, routers, switches).
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure network security.
- Manage and maintain server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Oversee data backup and recovery operations to ensure business continuity.
Software & System Administration:
- Administer and support key university applications, including Learning Management Systems (LMS - e.g., Camu, Moodle, Canvas), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Student Information Systems (SIS), and other academic/administrative software.
Administer and maintain Microsoft Exchange Online for email services.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across various platforms.
Audio-Video and Event Support:
Set up, configure, and troubleshoot audio and video systems in classrooms, conference rooms, and auditoriums.
Provide dedicated IT support for college internal and external events, including live streaming, sound, and visual presentations.
Cybersecurity & Data Protection:
- Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect university data and systems from threats.
- Monitor security alerts, conduct vulnerability assessments, and respond to security incidents.
- Promote cybersecurity awareness among university users.
Project Management & Coordination:
- Lead or assist in the planning, execution, and completion of IT projects, such as system upgrades, infrastructure improvements, and new technology rollouts.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to ensure project milestones are met.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive IT documentation, including system configurations, network diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and asset inventories.
- Generate regular reports on IT performance, incidents, and project progress.
