Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Title

Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for participating in design reviews and technical discussions and providing valuable insights and recommendations on hardware design considerations, trade-offs, and potential optimizations, working under limited supervision. The role consults with cross-functional teams to address hardware design issues and constraints, fostering effective communication and alignment across departments.

The role plays a vital role in supporting the development and implementation of hardware design improvements aimed at enhancing product quality, performance, and efficiency, leveraging insights gained from ongoing testing and evaluation processes. The role ensures adherence to company policies, procedures, and quality standards throughout all hardware design and development activities, fostering a culture of consistency and compliance.

Job Responsibilities:

• Analyzes hardware requirements and specifications to determine optimal design solutions for components in Philips products, ensuring alignment with performance and reliability standards, working under limited supervision.

• Develops, executes, and documents comprehensive test plans, design specifications, test results, procedures, and protocols to validate hardware designs, conducting thorough analyses and evaluations throughout the product development lifecycle, and maintaining accurate records for future reference and auditing purposes.

• Consults with cross-functional teams to identify, address, and resolve hardware design issues and constraints, fostering effective communication and alignment across departments.

• Utilizes in-depth knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and precise datuming techniques to create and interpret complex engineering drawings, ensuring accurate dimensioning, tolerancing, and tolerancing stack-ups.

• Implements stringent drawing standards, including ISO-A and ISO-E formats, ensuring all engineering documentation incorporates precise datum references.

• Contributes to new product development leveraging the latest technologies and novel methodologies, post consultation to confirm and align the objectives to ensure fulfillment of business requirements.

• Supports the development and implementation of hardware design improvements aimed at enhancing product quality, performance, and efficiency, leveraging insights gained from ongoing testing and evaluation processes.

• Troubleshot hardware issues and implements appropriate corrective actions, applying advanced problem-solving skills to mitigate technical challenges and minimize production downtime.

• Participates actively in design reviews and technical discussions, providing valuable insights and recommendations on hardware design considerations, trade-offs, and potential optimizations.

• Stays abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in hardware engineering, conducting continuous research and analysis to inform decision-making and drive innovation within the organization.

• Ensures adherence to company policies, procedures, and quality standards throughout all hardware design and development activities, fostering a culture of consistency, compliance, and continuous improvement.

• Exercises judgment within defined procedures/practices to determine appropriate action, applying analytical skills to resolve medium complexity requests efficiently.

You're the right fit if:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in areas such as System Architecture, System Design, and Hardware Engineering.

• Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering/Electronic Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering

• Product development, preferably full lifecycle.

• Schematic capture and PCB design (mixed signal)

• Design for EMI/EMC

• FPGA Development

• Design review processes.

• Configuration management

• Mentoring of junior engineers

• Engineering Test and Troubleshooting experience

• Occasional domestic travel

• Technical interaction with vendors such as board vendors.

• Comfortable taking the lead on tasks, with appropriate support.

• Drives communication – asks questions, raises issues early with proposed solutions.
