Senior Electrical Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Electrical System Design & Development

• Lead the design and engineering of LV/MV/HV electrical systems for industrial, infrastructure, and power projects.
  
• Prepare and review Single Line Diagrams (SLD), load schedules, cable sizing and routing, earthing and lightning protection systems, and lighting/small power layouts.
  
• Design power distribution systems including transformers, switchgear, MCCs, panels, and UPS systems.
  

2. Engineering Deliverables

• Develop and review key project documents such as equipment datasheets, specifications, technical bid evaluations (TBE), BOMs, design basis reports, and cable schedules.
  
• Ensure all engineering documents are accurate, consistent, and compliant with project and client standards.
  

3. Codes, Standards & Compliance

• Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards (IEC, IEEE, IS, NEC, NFPA, etc.).
  
• Incorporate safety, reliability, and maintainability in design.
  
• Address regulatory and client-specific requirements.
  

4. Coordination & Review

• Collaborate with mechanical, civil, and instrumentation teams for system integration.
  
• Interface with clients, consultants, and vendors for design reviews and approvals.
  
• Lead internal and external design review meetings at various stages (60%, 90%, IFC).
  

5. Vendor & Procurement Support

• Review vendor quotations, prepare TBEs, and recommend technically compliant vendors.
  
• Review vendor drawings/documents and ensure alignment with design requirements.
  
• Support FATs, inspections, and vendor coordination as required.
  

6. Construction & Site Support

• Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning.
  
• Resolve site technical queries and ensure smooth design-to-execution transition.
  

7. Project Management Support

• Manage engineering scope within project schedule and budget.
  
• Track progress of deliverables, report to the project manager, and support change management.
  

8. Quality & Documentation

• Ensure adherence to quality systems and design procedures.
  
• Prepare as-built drawings and final documentation for project handover.
  

9. Mentoring & Team Support

• Guide and mentor junior engineers and drafters.
  
• Review team deliverables to ensure technical accuracy and quality.
  

Soft Skills & Competencies

• Strong technical expertise in electrical systems and standards.
  
• Excellent communication, leadership, and coordination skills.
  
• High attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving approach.
  
• Proficient in design and analysis software such as

  ETAP, AutoCAD, EPLAN, Dialux, and MS Office

Preferred candidate profile

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Qualification:

  B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.

• Experience:

  7 to 10 years in electrical design and engineering within

  EPC, power, infrastructure, or industrial projects

  .
• Proven experience in

  LV/MV/HV system design

  , including SLDs, load calculations, cable sizing, and power distribution.
• Hands-on experience with

  transformers, switchgear, MCCs, panels, UPS systems, and field instruments

  .
