Responsibilities
- Handles routine aspects of engineering assignments that require applying fundamental engineering principles.
- Executes specific portions of engineering work using established procedures and guidelines.
- Collects, verifies, and organizes data related to engineering problems for analysis and reporting.
- Assists in preparing designs, studies, reports, and process deliverables.
- Performs calculations, simulations, and preliminary analyses to support engineering decisions.
- Uses engineering-related computer programs and tools as directed.
- Participates in creating material requisitions, technical specifications, and related documentation.
- Coordinates tasks assigned with other technical personnel to ensure alignment and progress.
- Assists in developing and verifying project control documents to maintain compliance and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with Italy or European regulatory codes, standards, and design/layout criteria relevant to the renewable discipline.
- Ability to work within defined scope, schedule, and budget, and communicate issues on owned tasks.
- Accuracy in calculations, completeness of data, and adherence to prescribed methods are essential.
- May provide technical direction to others performing specific design / CAD tasks.
- Works within immediate team and interfaces with other disciplines as directed.
- Demonstrates reliability in meeting commitments.
- Ability to articulate well in written communication, progressing toward technical writing proficiency.
- Consistently practice safe behaviors in both field and office.
- Accepts and seeks feedback; shows willingness and ability to apply it.
- Capable of managing personal workload and multiple commitments.
- Demonstrates potential for growth in both technical and soft skills.
- Understands the importance of building a network across the business unit.
Key skills required:
- Understanding of operational/ functioning flow and equipment in renewable energy plants.
- Familiarity with Italian grid connection standards, including CEI 0-16 and Terna Grid Code (experience preferred).
- Proficiency in LV/MV/HV electrical design, grid integration, and connection systems.
- Ability to size renewable plants including PV string sizing and inverter configuration.
- Competence in creating single-line diagrams, cable tray routing, cable trench layouts, and overall electrical general arrangements.
- Skilled in performing detailed electrical calculations for system design and validation.
- Experience in sizing MV/LV cables for both underground and overhead substations.
- Softwares: AutoCAD, PVsyst, Ampere (or similar), ETAP, DigSilent (or similar) Excel and Office Package.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Energy engineering.
- 8 to 14 years of experience.
