Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs) Strategic DevOps Leadership : Define, champion, and drive the long-term DevOps roadmap and strategy, aligning it with overall business objectives and architectural principles. Architecture & Design : Lead the design and implementation of highly scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, making critical architectural decisions for enterprise-level solutions. Advanced CI/CD Orchestration : Oversee the development, optimization, and governance of advanced CI/CD frameworks, integrating best practices for rapid, reliable, and secure software delivery. Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Mastery : Architect and manage complex cloud environments using advanced IaC techniques, ensuring consistency, versioning, and automated provisioning across all stages. Containerization & Orchestration Expertise : Lead the strategic adoption and optimization of containerization technologies (Docker) and advanced Kubernetes deployments, including multi-cluster management and service mesh integration. Observability & Incident Management : Architect comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions, driving proactive incident response, post-mortem analysis, and continuous system optimization based on performance data. Automation & Tooling : Champion a culture of automation by identifying opportunities, leading the development of custom tools, and integrating diverse systems to eliminate manual processes and enhance operational efficiency. DevSecOps & Compliance : Establish and enforce robust DevSecOps practices and security policies within the CI/CD pipeline and cloud infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Mentorship & Team Leadership : Provide expert guidance, technical leadership, and mentorship to a team of DevOps engineers, fostering their growth and ensuring high performance. Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner closely with engineering leads, architects, and product managers to understand requirements, influence technical direction, and ensure DevOps practices align with product vision. Cost Optimization & Governance : Drive initiatives for cloud cost optimization and implement robust governance models for resource utilization and security. Required Skills & Experience Experience : 10-15 years of extensive, hands-on experience in a senior DevOps, SRE, or equivalent leadership role. Cloud Architecture : Deep architectural expertise and proven experience designing and implementing solutions on at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP). Multi-cloud experience is highly desirable. CI/CD Leadership : Demonstrated leadership in architecting and managing complex CI/CD platforms (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, Spinnaker). Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Mastery : Expert-level proficiency with Terraform or Ansible for managing large-scale, complex cloud environments. Container Orchestration : Advanced expertise in Kubernetes administration, scaling, security, and ecosystem tools (e.g., Helm, Prometheus, Istio). Containerization : Expert-level proficiency with Docker. Scripting & Automation : Master-level scripting skills in Python, Go, Bash, or PowerShell for complex automation tasks. Operating Systems : Deep understanding of Linux internals, networking, and system administration; Windows Server expertise is a plus. Monitoring & Logging : Extensive experience designing and implementing enterprise-grade observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk, DataDog, Azure Monitor). Version Control : Expert-level proficiency with Git (e.g., GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Azure Repos) and advanced branching strategies. Networking : Deep understanding of cloud networking concepts (VPCs/VNets, VPNs, Load Balancers, DNS, CDNs, Firewalls, NSGs). Security : Proven experience implementing DevSecOps principles, managing secrets with Azure Key Vault/AWS Secrets Manager/Vault, and integrating security tools into pipelines. Desired Skills (Added Advantage) Experience with Service Mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd). Knowledge of serverless computing architectures (Azure Functions, AWS Lambda). Experience with event streaming platforms (Kafka, Azure Event Hubs, AWS Kinesis). Database administration experience (SQL/NoSQL) in a DevOps context. Strong understanding of site reliability engineering (SRE) principles.
