Senior Data Analyst / Tech Lead - JG

About The Role

• Lead design and implementation of end-to-end Power BI solutions: data ingestion, modelling, DAX measures, visualization design and performance tuning.
• Build and maintain ETL pipelines using Python and T-SQL to integrate multiple data sources (SQL Server, APIs, flat files) and ensure data quality and lineage.
• Automate routine reporting and MIS processes (Excel, Power Query, Python scripts) to reduce manual effort and speed up decision cycles.
• Manage secure publication, scheduling and access control for Power BI reports, including gateway configuration, row-level security and versioning.
• Translate business requirements into scalable analytical solutions and KPIs, partnering closely with business stakeholders to validate hypotheses and measure outcomes.
• Implement monitoring, alerting and SLA processes for data jobs and reports to ensure reliability and timely delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement: optimize queries, models and report design for performance and scalability as data volumes grow.
• Mentor and coach junior analysts, run peer reviews, and help the team adopt best practices for development, testing and documentation.
• Act as the primary technical liaison for client-facing deliverables and manage cross-functional delivery with Product, IT and external vendors when required.
  

Required Skills

• Power BI — advanced experience with data modelling, DAX, visualization best practices and performance optimization.
• Python — practical experience in data engineering/ETL using pandas, scripting for automation, and working with APIs.
• SQL Server — strong T-SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, query tuning and working with stored procedures.
• Advanced Excel — Power Query, PivotTables and automation (VBA or modern alternatives) for ad-hoc analysis and MIS.
• Familiarity with Power Apps or low-code platforms for simple application/prototype builds is a plus.
• Experience implementing data access controls, report scheduling, and production deployment processes for BI solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder communication—able to present findings, translate technical details for non-technical audiences and drive decisions.
• Proven track record of leading analytics projects or small teams and delivering measurable business impact.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in analytics, BI or reporting, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior contributor role.
• Prior experience in E-commerce or retail analytics is a strong advantage but not mandatory.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Azure Data) are beneficial.
