Job Description

Role Overview

  • We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Associate Manager to joinour Tax & Regulatory practice, with a strong focus on the Financial Services sector.
  • The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience advising clients on Indian tax laws and regulatory frameworks, including specialized exposure to regulations applicable to financial services sector

    Key Responsibilities

  • Advise Indian and global clients on India tax and regulatory matters (including crossborder inbound and outbound structures)Advise clients specifically engaged in the financial services sector (such as NBFCs, asset management companies, AIFs, FPIs, fintech companies, etc ) on direct tax matters and regulatory matters
  • Provide strategic tax and regulatory advisory for entities operating in or planning to set up in GIFT City, including evaluation of tax incentives, regulatory approvals, andcompliance requirements
  • Assist in tax planning, structuring, and compliance for clients, including cross-bordertransactions and inbound/outbound investments
  • Handle regulatory advisory related to RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, and IFSCA (for GIFT City entities)
  • Draft and review opinions, memos, and client deliverables on complex tax and regulatory issues
  • Advising clients on M&A deals and transactions involving undertaking tax due diligence,transaction structuring, review of deal documents like SPA SHA etc, preparation ofcapital gains tax workings and other tax documents related to the deal
  • Advising on fund structuring and fund set-up (AIFs with SEBI as well as GIFT City), draftingapplications to be filed with regulatory authorities, reviewing fund documents anddistribution waterfall workings etc
  • and undertaking routine tax and regulatorycompliances for fund entities
  • Undertaking routine tax and regulatory compliances for Indian as well as foreign clients
  • Advice on aspects related to private clientele services like succession planning, trustframeworks, cross border remittances etc
  • and advising on tax and FEMA aspects asapplicable to such transactions
  • Represent clients before tax authorities for assessments, appeals, and other proceedings
  • Stay updated with amendments in tax laws, GIFT City guidelines, and financial sectorregulations Collaborate with cross-functional teams including legal, audit, and consulting Support business development initiatives including proposal writing, client pitches, and professionals thought leadership

Qualifications & Experience

  • Chartered Accountant with 2-5 years of post-qualification experience
  • Prior experience in a large consulting firm is preferred
  • Strong understanding of direct tax laws, financial sector regulations, and GIFT Cityframework
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
