We're an in-person organization with 4 core team members in our Adelaide, Australia family office and one remote team member in the Philippines. Across our entire portfolio companies, we have over 30 employees between Adelaide and Sydney.

About the Role

remote Senior Accountant


In this role, you'll serve as both a hands-on accounting professional and a strategic process improvement specialist. You'll work directly with our Senior Bookkeeper to manage complex consolidation across business entities while identifying and implementing technology solutions that transform how we operate.


This is a unique opportunity to join an established family office ready to modernize. We've been operating successfully with traditional methods, but we recognize that technology has advanced significantly. You'll work for a few months to understand our systems deeply, then propose concrete solutions that dramatically improve our efficiency and insights. You'll have the autonomy to research, test, and recommend everything from credit card management systems to inventory solutions to AI-powered accounting tools.


Our IDEAL CANDIDATE


Your performance will be measured by work accuracy during our checks, proactive improvements with regular status updates, and your ability to build trust while enabling our team to focus on growth rather than repetitive tasks.


You'll be part of our Family Office’s Core team. You’ll work closely with our Senior Bookkeeper, and will be interacting with other teammates eventually. This position reports directly to our Senior Bookkeeper, and offers significant exposure to executive-level strategic thinking and investment management principles.


You’ll be doing things like:

  • Core Accounting Operations:

    Accounts payable and receivable across all portfolio companies; daily bank reconciliations for multiple entities; journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations; monthly profit and loss variation reports; retainer client reconciliations; company secretary file maintenance
  • Multi-Entity Consolidation:

    Cross-entity reimbursement processing; inter-company loan management; trust and complex entity structure accounting; month-end consolidation reporting; process standardization across holding company and subsidiaries
  • Process Improvement & Systems Analysis:

    Study operations for initial months then propose concrete solutions; audit existing financial systems and recommend upgrades; research and test new tools like integrated credit card management systems; implement inventory management solutions; develop SOPs across all business lines
  • Technology Implementation:

    Evaluate and implement AI tools for accounting functions; optimize Xero and MYOB workflows; integrate add-ons for increased efficiency and insights; streamline receipt management across businesses
  • Strategic Business Support:

    Customer account management across portfolio entities; support subsidiary businesses with specialized accounting tasks; provide analytical insights and recommendations for business improvements; assist with special projects that enhance portfolio performance
  • Tax Compliance Support:

    Enter pre-reconciled information for tax purposes; maintain compliance across multiple entity structures; support tax-related documentation preparation


Skills & Qualifications

  • 6+ years of prior experience in roles like Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, Senior Bookkeeper, or related multi-entity accounting positions.
  • ACCA certification or equivalent accounting qualification
  • Expertise in both MYOB and Xero accounting systems
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
  • Exceptional attention to detail with track record of error-free work
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Proactive task management and status reporting
  • Takes initiative on next tasks without direction
  • Tech-savvy with ability to research and implement new tools


Bonus if you also have:

  • Experience with Australian tax systems and regulations
  • Prior work with trusts and complex entity structures
  • Medium-level AI skills and experience with AI accounting tools
  • Background with family offices or investment management companies
  • Experience implementing process improvements or system integrations
  • Familiarity with our tools:Β Xero, MYOB, Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), Adobe Acrobat, Google Workspace, Pipedrive CRM, WhatsApp


Position Details

  • Working Hours:

    Fixed 9AM-6PM Sydney time (with 1-hour break)
  • Employment Type:

    Full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Education:

    ACCA certification or equivalent accounting qualification
  • Experience Level:

    Senior (6+ years of relevant accounting experience)
  • Compensation:

    ~AUD $1,602 – $1,868 (INR 90K – 105K), based on experience. Structured as a Consultant Agreement (independent contractor), meaning you'll be responsible for your own taxes, benefits, and insurance.
