Goodwork is recruiting for an Australian-based family office managing a diversified investment portfolio.
We're an Australian family office managing a diversified portfolio of commercial real estate, operating companies, private and public investments.. Our mission: to protect our investment portfolio while delivering exceptional value to tenants, business partners, and stakeholders.
As the central financial hub for our holdings, we maintain investment positions across multiple entities, handling accounts payable/receivable, daily bank reconciliations, and monthly reporting to our Board. We ensure financial accuracy and operational excellence across our entire portfolio.
Our tenants and customers span multiple sectors: commercial real estate clients with long-term 5-10 year lease agreements; residential development buyers and rental tenants; plus service customers across Sydney and Adelaide.
With AUD$75 million in assets under management and over 30 employees across Adelaide and Sydney, we've established a proven track record of sustainable growth and operational excellence in the Australian investment market.
We're an in-person organization with 4 core team members in our Adelaide, Australia family office and one remote team member in the Philippines. Across our entire portfolio companies, we have over 30 employees between Adelaide and Sydney.
Our culture balances fast-paced execution with a supportive, approachable environment where team members work through structured workflows with high trust and autonomy. With multiple entities always generating activity, we operate through organized processes and predictable finance cycles rather than micromanaging, creating a close-knit team where everyone is available to help when needed.
In this role, you'll serve as both a hands-on accounting professional and a strategic process improvement specialist. You'll work directly with our Senior Bookkeeper to manage complex consolidation across business entities while identifying and implementing technology solutions that transform how we operate.
This is a unique opportunity to join an established family office ready to modernize. We've been operating successfully with traditional methods, but we recognize that technology has advanced significantly. You'll work for a few months to understand our systems deeply, then propose concrete solutions that dramatically improve our efficiency and insights. You'll have the autonomy to research, test, and recommend everything from credit card management systems to inventory solutions to AI-powered accounting tools.
Your performance will be measured by work accuracy during our checks, proactive improvements with regular status updates, and your ability to build trust while enabling our team to focus on growth rather than repetitive tasks.
You'll be part of our Family Officeβs Core team. Youβll work closely with our Senior Bookkeeper, and will be interacting with other teammates eventually. This position reports directly to our Senior Bookkeeper, and offers significant exposure to executive-level strategic thinking and investment management principles.
