Job Description

Key Responsibilities:1. Business Development & Sales

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities for import/export freight forwarding (Sea & Air).
  • Generate sales leads through market research, customer visits, networking, and digital platforms.
  • Prepare and submit competitive freight quotations to customers.
  • Achieve monthly/quarterly sales targets in line with company objectives.

2. Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers.
  • Follow up with clients for bookings, feedback, and after-sales support.
  • Handle customer queries, complaints, and resolve issues promptly to ensure satisfaction.

3. Coordination & Execution

  • Coordinate with operations, documentation, and customs clearance teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Work closely with shipping lines, airlines, transporters, and overseas agents to secure best rates and transit times.
  • Monitor shipments and update clients proactively about cargo movement.

4. Pricing & Negotiation

  • Negotiate freight rates with carriers and overseas partners.
  • Prepare cost sheets and profit margins for each quotation.
  • Stay updated with market trends, carrier rates, and trade routes.

5. Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain customer database and sales activity records in CRM or Excel.
  • Submit weekly/monthly sales reports to the management.
  • Prepare proposals, presentations, and service agreements as required.

Key Skills Required:

  • In-depth knowledge of import/export documentation, Incoterms, and shipping procedures.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent market knowledge of freight forwarding, logistics, and supply chain.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet sales targets.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or International Trade.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in freight forwarding sales (import/export).
  • Familiarity with shipping lines, CHA (Customs House Agents), and transport networks.

Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Monthly sales revenue & profit margin.
  • Number of new clients acquired.
  • Customer retention rate.
  • Quote-to-booking conversion ratio.
  • Timely collection of payments.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
