Role Description

An RPA (Robotic Process Automation) Lead plays a critical role in the successful implementation and management of RPA initiatives within an organization. Here are five major roles of an RPA Lead:

1. Project Management and Delivery:

• The RPA Lead is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery of RPA projects. This includes planning, scheduling, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget. They manage the project lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment, ensuring that each phase aligns with the overall business objectives.

2. Technical Leadership:

• An RPA Lead provides technical guidance to the RPA development team. They define the architecture, select the right tools, and ensure that best practices are followed in bot development, testing, and deployment. Their technical expertise ensures the scalability, reliability, and maintainability of the automation solutions.

3. Stakeholder Management:

• Engaging with key stakeholders, including business leaders, IT departments, and process owners, is crucial. The RPA Lead communicates the value of RPA, manages expectations, and ensures that the automation strategy aligns with the organization’s broader goals. They also handle any concerns or resistance to change, fostering a positive attitude towards automation.

4. Process Analysis and Optimization:

• Before automation, the RPA Lead identifies and analyzes business processes that are suitable for automation. This role involves a deep understanding of both the business processes and the capabilities of RPA technologies.

5. Governance and Compliance:

They also manage the lifecycle of bots, including updates and decommissioning, to maintain security and operational integrity.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in leading RPA projects and implementing automation solutions
• Demonstrated expertise in RPA tools such as UiPath, Blue Prism, or Automation Anywhere
• Strong understanding of process analysis, design, and optimization
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Good communication and team management abilities
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Certifications in RPA tools or related fields are a plus
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Experience in managing and deploying on Azure and AWS Cloud
• Expertise in software engineering and project management methodologies
• Experience with RPA tools and technologies - UiPath is preferable
• Hands-on experience in programming languages (Java, C#, Python, etc.) and databases (SQL, Oracle, etc.)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Experience in Agile methodology and DevOps practices is a plus
