Job Description

The Store Manager at JUSTDOGS is responsible for leading store operations, driving sales, and ensuring outstanding customer service for pet parents and their pets. This role oversees staff management, inventory of pet products, grooming appointments and ensures the store delivers a safe, friendly, and pet-positive environment aligned with the JUSTDOGS brand values.


Key Responsibilities

1. Store Operations

  • Manage daily store activities including opening/closing procedures.
  • Ensure clean, organized, and pet-safe store environment.
  • Maintain high standards for product presentation, hygiene, and pet-friendly zones.
  • Oversee grooming or training services (depending on store format).

2. Team Leadership

  • Recruit, train, and supervise store associates with a passion for pets.
  • Schedule staff shifts and monitor performance to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Provide coaching, motivation, and support to maintain a positive team culture.
  • Ensure team follows pet-handling and customer service guidelines.

3. Customer Service & Engagement

  • Deliver exceptional service to pet parents, offering product guidance and support.
  • Resolve customer concerns, product issues, and service complaints professionally.
  • Promote memberships, loyalty programs, grooming services, and in-store events.

  • 4. Sales & Performance

    • Achieve store sales targets, KPIs, and profitability goals.
    • Analyze daily/weekly sales reports and implement improvement strategies.
    • Execute in-store promotions, campaigns, and merchandising strategies aligned with JUSTDOGS marketing guidelines.

    5. Inventory & Merchandising

    • Manage stock levels of pet food, treats, toys, accessories, and wellness products.
    • Conduct inventory audits, minimize stock loss, and ensure accurate ordering.
    • Maintain attractive visual merchandising, breed-specific displays, and seasonal products.

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience


    • 2–5 years of retail management experience, ideally in pet retail or FMCG.


    Skills

    • Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    • Familiarity with POS systems and basic MS Office.

    Personal Attributes


    • Comfortable working with pets (dogs, cats, small animals).
    • Flexible to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours when required.
