Overview
We are hiring a
Reporting & KPI Dashboard Engineer
who will be responsible for preparing structured reports, milestone summaries, and KPI dashboards that support automotive test & validation teams. The ideal candidate should be strong in analytics, reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, Jira), and able to convert complex test data into clear, actionable insights for decision-making, release readiness, and quality tracking.
Key Responsibilities
- Weekly Reporting & Status Summaries
- Prepare weekly reports for test progress, defect metrics, execution status, and key insights.
- Consolidate data from system, integration, diagnostic, and regression test streams.
- Present results in a structured format for stakeholders and management.
- Track bench availability, test environment stability, and operational KPIs.
- Milestone Reporting & Release Readiness
- Create milestone-level reports for feature releases, software drops, and gateway reviews.
- Summarize test coverage, defect status, risks, stability trends, and release blockers.
- Provide decision-support content for Go/No-Go meetings.
- Coordinate closely with test managers, system owners, and quality teams.
- KPI Dashboard Development & Maintenance
- Develop and maintain dashboards in Excel, Power BI, and Jira to visualize:
- Test execution trends
- Pass/fail rates
- Regression metrics
- Defect trends & severity distribution
- Bench uptime & availability
- Automate dashboard updates and ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Data Collection & Consolidation
- Gather data from Jira, test execution tools, databases, and monitoring systems.
- Clean, validate, and normalize data for reliable reporting.
- Build standardized templates and workflows to improve reporting efficiency.
- Jira Dashboards & Automation
- Create advanced Jira dashboards using JQL, filters, gadgets, and metrics.
- Automate extraction of defect and execution data using Jira plugins or API (if applicable).
- Ensure dashboards meet the needs of development, testing, and management teams.
- Communication & Presentation
- Present KPIs and test summaries during weekly reviews or project meetings.
- Explain trends, risks, and improvement areas in a clear and meaningful way.
- Support management in interpreting data for planning and decision-making.
Technical Skills (Advanced)
Reporting & Analytics
- Expert-level Excel (pivot tables, macros, charts, complex formulas).
- Strong Power BI skills (data models, DAX, scheduled refresh, visualization).
- Knowledge of KPI design for test and software quality tracking.
Jira & Data Management
- Proficiency in Jira dashboards, advanced JQL, and custom reporting.
- Experience extracting & transforming data from Jira for external reporting.
- Knowledge of Jira–Power BI/Excel integration is a strong advantage.
Data Visualization
- Ability to design clear, intuitive dashboards for technical and management stakeholders.
- Understanding of effective visualization techniques and data storytelling.
Automotive Domain Knowledge
- Familiarity with automotive test lifecycle: system, integration, diagnostic, regression testing.
- Understanding of ASPICE-related KPIs and reporting expectations.
- Knowledge of automotive release cycles and milestone structures.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Clear communication and presentation skills.
- Structured, methodical, and consistent reporting style.
- Ability to work across teams in fast-paced development environments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or related fields.
- 1–3 years of experience in reporting, dashboarding, or KPI analytics (preferably automotive).
- Strong hands-on experience with Excel, Power BI, and Jira.
- Experience in automotive test/validation environments is a major advantage.
