Job Title: Real Estate Compliance and Revenue Specialist
Department: Real Estate / Finance / LegalReports To: Director of Compliance / Chief Financial Officer / Head of Real Estate
Job Summary:
The Real Estate Compliance and Revenue Specialist is responsible for ensuring organizational adherence to real estate regulatory requirements while managing revenue tracking and financial reporting related to real estate operations. This dual-role professional acts as a liaison between legal, finance, and operations teams to maintain regulatory compliance, optimize revenue processes, and mitigate risk across real estate transactions and property portfolios.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance:
• Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal real estate laws, including licensing, fair housing, lease regulations, and environmental standards.
• Develop and implement internal policies and procedures related to real estate compliance.
• Conduct regular audits of leases, transactions, and property management operations.
• Assist in managing risk assessments and implementing corrective actions for any compliance violations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in real estate laws and communicate updates to internal stakeholders.
Revenue Management:
• Oversee and reconcile real estate revenue, including rent, lease payments, commissions, and other income sources.
• Coordinate with finance teams to track revenue performance across properties and regions.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting related to real estate operations.
• Analyze revenue trends and identify opportunities for financial optimization or cost recovery.
• Ensure accurate invoicing and timely collections.
Cross-Functional Support:
• Collaborate with legal, accounting, property management, and leasing departments.
• Support internal and external audits related to compliance and revenue.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance procedures and financial documentation.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field (required).
• 3+ years of experience in real estate compliance, financial analysis, or revenue management.
• Strong understanding of real estate laws, lease agreements, and financial regulations.
• Proficient in financial software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, QuickBooks, Excel).
• Detail-oriented with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certified Property Manager (CPM), Real Estate License, or other relevant certifications.
• Experience with commercial and/or multi-family property portfolios.
• Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance or internal controls is a plus.
