Quality Control Engineer -Construction

Position Overview:

The QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all project execution activities comply with approved quality standards, codes, and client requirements. The role involves planning and implementing quality processes, conducting inspections, preparing QA/QC documentation, and coordinating with project teams, subcontractors, and clients for quality compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance (QA):

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Assurance Plan in line with company QMS and client requirements.
• Review and approve Method Statements, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and quality procedures submitted by contractors/subcontractors.
• Ensure materials, equipment, and systems conform to project specifications, drawings, and international standards.
• Conduct internal quality audits and ensure timely closure of NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports).
• Provide training and awareness on QA procedures to site engineers and subcontractors.

Quality Control (QC):

• Perform inspections for Electrical & MEP installations including MV/LV systems, Generators, Transformers, HT/LT Panels, UPS, Busducts, HVAC, Fire Fighting, and related works.
• Witness and verify testing & commissioning activities (FAT, SAT, Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning tests).
• Monitor work progress and ensure compliance with approved shop drawings and ITP checklists.
• Validate calibration of instruments and ensure traceability of measurement tools.
• Document inspection findings, prepare quality reports, and maintain proper records for audits & client handover.

Project Support & Coordination:

• Collaborate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, and Consultants to resolve quality-related issues.
• Support final project handover ensuring all QA/QC documents (as-built drawings, test certificates, inspection records) are complete.
• Enforce compliance with ISO 9001 and HSE standards during execution.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

• Education:

  Bachelor’s/Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

• Experience:

  4–12 years of QA/QC experience in Project Execution (preferably Datacenter, MEP, Infrastructure, or Industrial projects).

• Standards Knowledge:

  Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, NFPA, IS standards, and ISO 9001 QMS implementation.

• Technical Proficiency:

• QA/QC procedures, ITPs, NCR management, material submittal approvals.
• Inspection and testing of MV/LV panels, Generators, Transformers, UPS, Busducts, HVAC, Fire Fighting systems.
• Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) & Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).

• Software & Tools:

  MS Office, QA/QC documentation tools, and exposure to ERP/Project Management tools (Primavera/MS Project is a plus).

• Core Skills:

  Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, report preparation, stakeholder coordination.

• Certifications (Preferred):

  ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), Six Sigma, or equivalent QA certifications
