About the Department / Vertical/ Section –
The Quality Assurance (QA) Department is responsible for ensuring that products and services meet the required standards of quality, reliability, and performance. This involves developing and implementing quality control processes, conducting tests and inspections, and identifying areas for improvement to prevent defects and ensure customer satisfaction
Purpose of the role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team, focusing on the new product development of Motor Control Unit (MCU). As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance in the design, development, and testing of MCU for electric 2W and 3W projects
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies for MCU development, ensuring that all features and functionalities meet performance and reliability requirements.
2. Identifying and documenting defects during development phase and post launch of product and ensuring they are resolved in a timely manner using QC story /8D tools.
3. Proactively conduct SDCA and PDCA at regular intervals on DWM, quality assurance processes and workflows, working closely with design, development and manufacturing teams to promote a culture of continual improvement.
4. Prepare reports on test progress, results, and defects, providing insights into product quality during new product development.
5. Ensure that all motor control units meet regulatory, industry, and customer-specific quality standards, including relevant certifications (e.g., AIS, ISO, IEC & TVSM standards etc.).
6. Work closely with hardware and software engineering teams to understand system designs, identify potential quality risks, and implement preventive measures.
7. Responsible for conducting QMS audits for supplier evaluation & onboarding of new vendor/supplier.
8. Responsible for conducting PPAP audits to qualify MCU for mass production.
9. Conducting benchmarking study at regular intervals for generating VAVE ideas, part localization or new vendor development.
Review and provide feedback on product requirements & drawings with designer at every stage of product development. Participate in DFMEA, DFM, DFA &DFS reviews and share feedback
Technical Skills:
1. Good understanding of motor control unit algorithms (e.g., field-oriented control, Direct torque control etc) and MCU hardware architecture.
2. Basic understanding of MCU software development cycle as per ASPICE
3. Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python, C/C++, MATLAB) for test automation.
4. Knowledge of automotive industry standards and regulations (e.g., AIS, ISO &IEC) standards relevant to MCU testing.
5. Basic knowledge on functional safety standard ISO 26262.
6. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills (QC story/8D), with the ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve complex issues.
7. Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
8. Experience with model-based design/development (e.g., Simulink/MATLAB) is added advantage.
9. Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and simulation environments.
Knowledge of testing MCU at dynamometer and vehicle level in torque and speed modes.
