JOB PROFILE – PRODUCTION CUM QUALITY ENGINEER
1. Planning & Coordination
Collect the control plan from Mr. BhargavBhai before starting inspections.
Coordinate daily with Mr. Bhargavbhai for inspection and production planning.
Ensure drawings and inspection requirements are clearly understood before machining begins.
2. In-Line Inspection & Machining Control
Perform in-line inspection during final machining, including:
Keyway
Threading
Circlip groove
Step length distances
Step diameters
Verify proper job markings for circlip grooves, keyway positions, and lengths before operation starts.
Allow machining operations only after QC approval to avoid rejection.
3. Control Plan & Dimensional Records
Record actual dimensions in the control plan at each stage, including:
Before grinding
After grinding
After hard chrome plating
After rubber coating
Dimensions to be recorded include step lengths, keyway dimensions, groove dimensions, and all drawing-specified parameters.
4. Rework & Process Control
If any rework is identified in rollers:
Coordinate immediately with Mr. Bhargavbhai and the production team.
Complete rework at the same stage whenever possible.
Punch required identification details on roller shaft face:
Drawing number
Serial number
Company symbol
Vendor code
5. Grinding & Post-Grinding Inspection
After QC approval, send jobs for grinding (in-house or outsourced) as discussed with Mr. Arvind.
Perform detailed inspection on the grinding machine after grinding completion, checking:
Taper
Runout
Diameter
All drawing-specified dimensions
Instruct grinding operators on proper job packing, including:
Rust preventive oil
Stretch roll
Bubble sheet
Corrugated cardboard
Cotton patti (where required)
6. Vendor Inspection & Outsourced Processes
Visit vendor locations for inspection when required, such as:
Hard chrome plating (HCP)
Rubber coating
VMC work
Outsourced grinding
Prepare inspection reports, share them in the WhatsApp group, and file them in the relevant inspection records.
If the job is approved at vendor location, inform Mr. Arvind for material collection.
7. Incoming Material & Final Inspection
Carefully supervise unloading of materials returned from vendors.
Inform production if any pending operations are required (e.g., end shaft grinding, bore buffing).
Check all dimensions after each process and update inspection reports.
After completion of all processes, place jobs safely in the inspection or dispatch area.
Submit all inspection reports to Mr. Bhargavbhai.
8. Third-Party Inspection Support
Keep drawings and measuring instruments ready for third-party inspection.
Assist the inspector during inspection and ensure measurements are checked jointly.
Submit third-party inspection reports to Mr. Bhargavbhai.
9. Packing & Dispatch Responsibility
Perform final packing of rollers with utmost care, including:
Applying rust preventive oil on ground and hard chrome plated parts
Applying rust preventive varnish on roller end shafts
Packing main OD and end shafts using stretch roll, bubble sheet, corrugated cardboard
Special packing for hard chrome plated and rubber rollers using cotton Patti where required
Attach company tag on each roller mentioning:
Item code
Purchase Order number
Pack material in wooden boxes when required.
Inform Mr. Bhargavbhai after final packaging for dispatch.
10. Dispatch & Documentation
Ensure safe loading during dispatch.
Take dispatch photos after loading and share them in the WhatsApp group without fail.
Submit dispatched material drawings to Mr. Bhargav without exception.
11. Accountability
Take full responsibility for production quality, inspection accuracy, packing, and dispatch coordination.
Maintain an ownership mindset:
“Responsibility is mine” throughout the production and quality process.
JOB PROFILE – QC HEAD / QUALITY ASSURANCE
1. Daily Planning & Coordination
Review the production sheet daily to understand workload and priorities.
Attend the daily kick-off meeting to receive updates and plan inspections for in-house and outsourced jobs.
Distribute work effectively among QC Engineers under supervision.
Collect drawings and control plans from Mr. Bhargav and explain requirements clearly to QC engineers.
2. Quality Control & Inspection Responsibility
Ensure zero rework in all jobs.
If rework is identified during machining, coordinate immediately with the production team or Mr. Bhargav to repair or rework at the same stage.
Cross-check all dimension readings taken by QC engineers and resolve doubts immediately.
Verify job markings before operations such as:
Circlip groove
Keyway distance and length
(Operations to start only after QC approval to avoid rejection.)
Personally verify:
Roller face length
Roller total length
Bearing thrust
3. Outsource & Vendor Management
For jobs requiring outsourced processes (grinding, hard chrome plating, rubber coating, VMC operations, etc.):
Prepare and issue challan / annexure / gate pass as per drawing requirements.
Discuss doubts with Mr. Bhargav when required.
Inform vendors in advance regarding proper packing requirements.
Confirm packing condition during inspection and material collection.
Collect material from job-work vendors only after QC inspection and reports are completed.
4. Reporting & Documentation
Collect daily QC reports from QC engineers and submit them to Mr. Bhargav or Mr. Dharmesh Sir.
Prepare and maintain all required documents, including:
Self-inspection reports
Balancing test certificates
Stress relieving reports
Material test reports
Submit all inspection reports and documents to Mr. Bhargav prior to dispatch.
Update dispatch details properly in the PO list.
5. Customer & Third-Party Inspection
Issue final inspection calls via email to customers along with self-inspection reports once jobs are ready.
Take full responsibility for third-party inspections:
Assist inspectors during inspection.
Ensure all required reports are ready beforehand.
After successful inspection:
Collect third-party inspection reports.
File and maintain records properly.
If rework is identified during third-party inspection:
Perform immediate rework if possible.
Otherwise, inform Mr. Bhargav or Mr. Dharmesh Sir promptly.
6. Dispatch & Packing Responsibility
After final inspection approval:
Verify final packing, tagging, and labelling.
Ensure wooden box packing includes all required markings and details.
Take full responsibility for dispatch of all ready materials, ensuring compliance with quality and documentation standards.
7. Accountability
Overall quality assurance responsibility lies with the QC Head.
Maintain a mindset of ownership, accuracy, and proactive problem-solving at all stages of production, inspection, and dispatch.
