Quality Assurance Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on QA professional who can own quality end-to-end — from test planning and execution to bug tracking, Jira discipline, and release readiness.

This is not just a test execution role. We need someone who can:

• Think in terms of process, structure, and releases
• Translate product requirements into clear test cases and user stories
• Maintain high discipline in Jira
• Act as a quality gatekeeper before every release and grow in this role

Key Responsibilities

QA Planning & Execution

• Create QA strategy and test plans and scenarios for new features and releases
• Perform manual testing (functional, regression, sanity)
• Ensure test coverage across web and mobile applications
• Identify edge cases, workflow breaks, and data issues

Bug Management

• Log clear, reproducible bugs in Jira with Steps to reproduce, expected and actual results and screenshots videos etc
• Track bug lifecycle from open → fix → retest → closure
• Prioritize bugs with product & tech teams (critical / major / minor)

Jira Discipline & Product Structuring

• Maintain clean Jira hygiene
• Create and manage:
• Epics
• User stories
• Sub-tasks
• Ensure acceptance criteria are testable and unambiguous
• Actively participate in sprint planning and retrospectives

Release Management Support

• Coordinate QA readiness for releases
• Validate release scope against completed stories
• Ensure planning for release days
• Perform release sign-off from a QA perspective
• Support hotfix validation when needed

Team Process Enablement

• Responsibly guide team members to follow defined QA processes and best practices, ensuring consistency, quality standards, and smooth collaboration across teams.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3–6+ years of experience in Manual QA / QA Lead role
• Strong experience with Jira (non-negotiable)
• Experience writing:
• Test cases
• User stories
• Acceptance criteria
• Solid understanding of SDLC & Agile/Scrum
• Strong analytical and documentation skills
• Experience working closely with developers and product managers

Good to Have (Bonus)

• Experience testing healthcare / fintech / regulated platforms
• Exposure to API testing (Postman or similar)
• Basic understanding of automation concepts (not mandatory)
• Experience working with distributed teams
