Job Overview

We are seeking an Executive-Level Purchasing Manager to join our team at Podar Education Network in Mysuru. This is a Full-Time position requiring a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience. The role involves managing procurement processes, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effective purchasing strategies. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the quality and efficiency of our educational resources and infrastructure.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related field, demonstrating a strong track record of results.
  • Must have a BE in Civil Engineering as it is essential to understand the technical requirements of educational infrastructure. (Mandatory skill)
  • Proficiency in ERP Systems to manage procurement processes efficiently and effectively. (Mandatory skill)
  • Exceptional negotiation skills, particularly in purchasing agreements, to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Experience with Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) to ensure long-term support and service for purchased assets.
  • Strong procurement skills, with an ability to manage vendor relationships and selection processes strategically.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with various stakeholders, balancing competing priorities and interests.
  • Analytical skills for assessing market trends and supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies to ensure the timely supply of quality materials and services.
  • Negotiate contract terms and pricing agreements with suppliers and vendors to ensure cost-efficiency and compliance.
  • Manage and optimize the procurement process using ERP systems, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Collaborate with various departments to forecast needs and establish budgetary constraints for purchasing activities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring high-quality service and support for products purchased.
  • Evaluate and monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and service level agreements.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging markets to enhance the effectiveness of purchasing decisions.
  • Lead and manage a team of purchasing professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.
