Job Title: Procurement Officer / Purchase Manager – Biomass Pellet Plant Location: Palwal, Haryana Department: Procurement / Supply Chain Reports To: Plant Head / Operations Director Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and proactive Procurement Officer / Purchase Manager to lead and manage the end-to-end purchasing function for our biomass pellet manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sourcing agricultural waste (e.g., rice straw, wheat husk, sugarcane bagasse, etc.) and an understanding of working directly with farmers, aggregators, and rural vendors. This role is critical in ensuring a consistent and cost-effective supply of raw materials, building supplier relationships, and maintaining procurement efficiency aligned with production requirements and sustainability goals. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable sources of agricultural waste and biomass raw materials in targeted regions. Vendor Management: Build strong relationships with farmers, cooperatives, middlemen, and local aggregators to ensure consistent raw material supply. Procurement Planning: Forecast and manage raw material procurement based on production schedules and seasonal availability. Price Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to secure competitive and sustainable procurement deals. Quality Assurance: Work closely with the quality team to ensure raw materials meet the required standards before acceptance. Logistics Coordination: Coordinate with logistics and transport vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of raw materials to the plant. Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, invoices, and payments; ensure compliance with legal, tax, and company standards. Market Intelligence: Monitor agricultural trends, crop cycles, government policies, and local factors affecting raw material availability and pricing. Team Leadership (if applicable): Manage a team of field officers or purchase assistants; set KPIs, provide guidance, and ensure efficient operations
