Key Responsibilities: Demand Forecasting and Planning: Analysing historical sales data, market trends, and seasonal variations to accurately forecast demand for agricultural equipment and parts. Developing and maintaining demand plans to ensure optimal inventory levels. Inventory Management: Monitoring inventory levels and implementing strategies to minimize stock outs and excess inventory. Managing the flow of materials and parts to meet production and customer demand. Optimizing inventory turnover and reducing holding costs. Supplier Relationship Management: Collaborating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and parts. Negotiating contracts and managing supplier performance. Evaluating supplier capabilities and identifying potential risks. Procurement and Purchasing: Generating purchase orders and managing the procurement process. Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Analysing market prices and identifying cost-saving opportunities. Supply Chain Coordination: Working closely with production, logistics, and sales teams to ensure smooth supply chain operations. Identifying and resolving supply chain bottlenecks and disruptions. Contributing to the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process. Data Analysis and Reporting: Generating reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory, procurement, and supply chain performance. Using data analysis tools to identify trends and patterns. Providing insights and recommendations to improve supply chain efficiency. Typical Qualifications: Education: A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, agriculture, or a related field. Experience: Proven experience in purchase planning, inventory management, or supply chain management, preferably in the agricultural equipment industry. Experience with ERP systems, such as SAP. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Knowledge: Understanding of agricultural equipment and parts. Knowledge of supply chain principles and best practices. Familiarity with inventory management techniques. Specific Considerations for Agricultural Equipment: The agricultural equipment industry is often subject to seasonal demand fluctuations, which requires careful planning. The complexity of agricultural equipment, with its many parts and components, necessitates strong inventory management skills. The global nature of the agricultural equipment supply chain requires effective communication and coordination with international suppliers. Precision agriculture technology is also becoming more and more prevalent, so knowledge of those systems is becoming more important.
