Purchase Engineer

Job Description:

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Executive/Engineer with 5–10 years of

relevant experience to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of

procurement processes in the engineering or manufacturing sector.

Responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing technical and industrial goods and services while

ensuring cost-effectiveness, timely delivery, and quality compliance.

This role is critical in maintaining an uninterrupted supply chain and involves regular coordination with

vendors, internal teams, and project leader

Candidate Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (B.E.)
• 5–10 years of hands-on experience in procurement or purchase roles in engineering/manufacturing environments
• Strong understanding of industrial materials, BOMs, and technical drawings
• Excellent negotiation skills and ability to build strong vendor relationships
• Familiarity with procurement software and ERP systems (SAP, Tally ERP, etc.)
• Good analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Knowledge of import/export regulations (preferred but not mandatory)
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle procurement of mechanical and electrical components, equipment, and materials
• Evaluate and select vendors based on quality, price, and delivery timelines
• Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement
• Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions
• Coordinate with internal departments (engineering, production, finance) for timely procurement planning
• Monitor supplier performance and maintain vendor relationships
• Ensure timely delivery of materials as per project schedules
• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for mechanical/electrical goods and services
• Solicit and compare quotations, perform techno-commercial evaluations, and prepare
• comparison statements
• Finalize purchase orders and contracts with approved vendors
• Monitor purchase requisitions and ensure timely procurement based on project schedules and demand
• Ensure materials and equipment procured meet quality and technical specifications
• Collaborate closely with engineering, production, quality, and finance departments
• Maintain healthy vendor relationships and resolve any supply or delivery issues
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
• Keep updated records of purchases, pricing, deliveries, and inventory
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and legal regulations

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
