Purchase Assistant

Job Summary: The Purchase Assistant will support the procurement team in sourcing, purchasing, and maintaining inventory of materials, goods, and services required by the organization. The role involves coordinating with vendors, processing purchase orders, maintaining records, and ensuring timely delivery to support smooth business operations. Key Roles & Responsibilities: Assist in sourcing suppliers and vendors for required materials and services. Collect quotations, compare prices, and prepare cost analysis reports. Process and follow up on purchase orders (POs) to ensure timely deliveries. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data. Support vendor negotiations to obtain the best quality and pricing. Coordinate with accounts team for invoice verification and timely vendor payments. Track inventory levels and notify the manager for replenishment. Assist in maintaining supplier databases and evaluating supplier performance. Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures. Provide administrative support to the Purchase/Procurement Manager. Required Skills & Competencies: Basic knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Good organizational and time-management abilities. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Ability to work in a team and meet deadlines. Qualification & Experience: Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field. 0–2 years of experience in a procurement or purchase-related role (freshers with strong skills may also apply).
