Job Summary

The Project Manager will lead the end-to-end execution of ground-mounted PV projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget with high QHSE while adhering to Indian regulatory standards (e.g., MNRE guidelines, CEA approvals, and ISTS connectivity). This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, managing stakeholders, and mitigating risks in the dynamic Indian renewables market. Ideal for a proactive leader passionate about sustainable energy.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, budgets, and risk assessments for solar PV installations ranging from 1 MW to 100 MW+
• Oversee project execution from site assessment and procurement to commissioning, including EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) coordination, quality control and Safety
• Manage logistics for solar panel supply chains, ensuring compliance with Make in India preferences and import duties on modules including ALMM and ALCM
• Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, finance, legal) and external stakeholders (government bodies, DISCOMs, transmission utilities) to secure approvals, land acquisition review for construction prospective, and power evacuation systems (up to 220 kV substations and transmission lines)
• Monitor project progress using tools like MS Project or Primavera, conducting regular site visits to ensure safety, environmental compliance, and adherence to ISO 9001/14001 standards
• Identify and mitigate risks related to weather delays, supply chain disruptions, or policy changes (e.g., PLI scheme updates)
• Prepare and present progress reports, financial forecasts, and post-commissioning handover documentation to senior management and clients
• Drive continuous improvement by incorporating lessons learned from projects and staying updated on emerging technologies like bifacial panels or floating solar
  

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• 12-15 years of experience in solar PV project management, with at least 3 years in the Indian renewables sector (EPC or IPP experience highly desirable)
• Proven track record of delivering 500+ MW solar projects on time and within budget
• Familiarity with Indian regulations, including MNRE approvals, SECI bidding processes, and net metering policies
  

Preferred:

• PMP or equivalent certification
• Experience with hybrid solar-wind or battery storage integration
• Knowledge of financing models like REC/RECs and carbon credits under India's INDC commitments
  

Skills and Competencies:

• Technical Skills: EPC contracting, and concept power system modeling
• Project Management: Strong expertise in budgeting, scheduling and risk analysis
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation abilities; ability to lead diverse teams in multicultural settings
• Other: Proficiency in MS Office Suite; basic English/ Hindi/ regional language knowledge for site interactions will be preferable
  

Work Environment and Conditions

Fast-paced environment with min 60% travel to project sites or more depends upon the project site conditions (primarily in Rajasthan & Gujarat or as per Project Site)
