Job Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end execution of solar power projects from planning and design to procurement, installation, commissioning, and final handover. The role involves cross-functional coordination, project scheduling, budgeting, vendor and contractor management, and ensuring strict adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee complete solar project execution including site surveys, design validation, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Develop detailed project plans with timelines, resource allocation, milestones, and budgets.
• Coordinate with internal engineering, procurement, logistics, and execution teams to ensure timely material delivery and project progress.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, vendors, and subcontractors to meet project deadlines and technical requirements.
• Monitor project progress regularly and proactively resolve issues or delays.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards (HSE, IEC, ISO).
• Conduct routine site visits to supervise work and ensure adherence to approved drawings and engineering specifications.
• Lead project review meetings and prepare progress reports for management and stakeholders.
• Manage project documentation, approvals, DISCOM processing, net-metering documentation, and final handover files.
• Optimize resource usage and monitor costs to ensure the project remains within budget.
• Handle all client communication throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring timely updates and complete customer satisfaction.

Requirements

Education

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related discipline.
• PMP certification is an added advantage.
• MBA in Project Management is preferred.

Experience

• 7 to 10 years of experience in solar project management (Ground-mounted (mw) and Open Access Projects
• Knowledge of government solar schemes, DISCOM regulations, and net-metering policies.
• Good knowledge of Open Access Projects

Technical Knowledge

• Strong understanding of solar PV systems, inverters, modules, structures, electrical layouts, and industry standards.
• Familiarity with quality standards (ISO, IEC) and safety norms (HSE compliance).

Skills & Competencies

• Strong project planning, budgeting, and reporting abilities.
• Proven experience in vendor and contractor management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera, etc.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
