Job Title: Project Engineer Location: Dayananda Sagar University, Kanakapura Road, Bengaluru Experience: 9+ years of site/project experience in esteemed construction or infrastructure projects; prior experience in institutional or campus environments preferred. Job Summary: The Project Engineer will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations at university construction or maintenance sites. This includes managing on-site activities, ensuring safety compliance, supervising contractors and vendors, and ensuring that construction or infrastructure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge, practical experience, and the ability to coordinate with internal departments and external contractors. Key Responsibilities: Site/Project Supervision: Oversee on-site construction, renovation, and maintenance activities. Monitor work to ensure compliance with design, specifications, safety standards, and local regulations. Project Execution: Coordinate with architects, consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless execution of projects. Assist in interpreting drawings, plans, and specifications on-site. Maintain quality control procedures and ensure proper use of materials. Progress Monitoring: Track progress of construction and maintenance projects against schedules. Maintain daily site records, including work progress, manpower, equipment usage, and incidents. Health and Safety: Ensure the safety of all site personnel by enforcing safety guidelines and conducting regular inspections. Report and manage incidents and implement corrective measures as needed. Communication & Coordination: Liaise with university departments (engineering, procurement, administration) regarding project needs and progress. Conduct site meetings with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Resource Management: Monitor inventory of site materials and request procurement of additional supplies as needed. Ensure optimal usage of manpower and equipment. Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, photos, inspection records, and as-built drawings. Support preparation of reports for management and regulatory compliance. Qualifications: Education: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Experience: 9+ years of site/project experience in construction or infrastructure projects; prior experience in institutional or campus environments preferred. Skills: Strong technical knowledge of construction materials, methods, and regulations. Proficiency in project management tools and AutoCAD. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Desirable: Experience working on large-scale campus infrastructure projects. Familiarity with green building practices and sustainable construction. Knowledge of university operations or educational infrastructure standards. Working Conditions: Full-time, on-site position.
