This is a great opportunity for a capable and motivated Delivery Manager to take on a leadership role with real scope to influence how teams work and deliver. You’ll be responsible for guiding agile teams through complex projects, helping them navigate challenges, and steadily improving their ways of working. 


You’ll play a key role in shaping delivery practices—coaching teams, supporting continuous improvement, and helping move them toward a high-performing state. With a focus on collaboration, communication, and practical delivery, you’ll also work closely with stakeholders and third parties to ensure successful outcomes.

Responsibilities


You will be responsible for: 

  • Owning the delivery against quarterly objectives for up to two agile delivery teams and/or supporting a Delivery Manager on the delivery of a larger initiative. 
  • Producing end-to-end delivery plans for 3rd party integrations, from initial engagement and requirements gathering through to go-live and support implementation. 
  • Facilitation of agile ceremonies, and other meetings required by your team(s). 
  • Coaching and encouraging your teams in the adoption of best practices in line with the SDLC and delivery framework. 
  • Acting as a point of contact with external suppliers or customers, providing them with key information and managing escalations and issues as necessary. 
  • Coordinating the definition, planning, and scheduling of work by priority with the Product Owner or Business Analyst in your team(s), including facilitating the prioritisation of work raised by stakeholders. 
  • Reporting and visualisation of progress against objectives and target KPIs and identifying plans and actions to return to Green where issues arise. 
  • Communicating the status of work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Proactively managing dependencies, risks, issues, and blockers which impact your team(s)’ ability to deliver. 
  • Understanding and contributing to long-term strategic deliveries and the commercial benefit of the work done by your team(s). 



Accountabilities/Measures:


You will be accountable for and measured on the following: 


  • Well-managed delivery that meets customer needs, including proactive management of risks, issues, and dependencies, with suitable escalations. 
  • On-time, right-first-time delivery of larger initiatives and projects. 
  • Continuous improvement within your assigned team(s), demonstrating the positive impact you have made to ways of working. 
  • Positive stakeholder management and feedback received via a 360-feedback process from your peers. 
  • Completion of any specified training courses. 
  • The personal development of your skills and knowledge against the Delivery Manager framework. 


Requirements:

You should have:


  • 5 +  years’ experience of applying agile development practices in software teams to achieve on-time, right-first-time iterative delivery. 
  • End-to-end leadership of integration projects with 3rd party systems, ideally within financial services/fintech. 
  • Demonstrable experience of making improvements to team ways of working, delivery practice, and in coaching teams towards continuous improvement. 
  • Stakeholder management experience, including 3rd party clients and senior internal stakeholders. 
  • An interest in software delivery, technology, and best practices, backed up by a willingness to learn and develop. 
  • Experience of risk, issue, and dependency management, including cross-team and cross-domain dependency planning. 
  • Experience of Jira or similar delivery tools, including reporting. 
  • Certifications in project management and/or agile delivery methodologies e.g. Certified Scrum Master. 


You may have:


  • Knowledge of motor finance, the UK lending market, and how financial compliance can impact delivery of requirements. 
  • Knowledge of Azure .NET tech stacks. 
  • Experience of supporting and managing complex dependencies with legacy products 
  • Experience of best practices in test automation and coaching this within your teams. 
  • An understanding of, or interest in software architecture and design and best practice.
