Production Supervisor

An Automobile Production Supervisor manages daily plant floor operations, focusing on meeting targets by directing workers, ensuring quality & safety, optimizing workflows, troubleshooting issues, and developing staff, often in high-pressure, shift-based environments within assembly or component manufacturing. Key duties involve scheduling, resource allocation, maintaining standards (Lean, Kaizen), quality control, safety compliance, equipment oversight, and detailed reporting for management. Key Responsibilities

• Production Planning & Execution: Develop and implement daily/shift production plans, assign tasks, manage manpower, and meet targets.
• Quality Assurance: Implement quality standards, conduct inspections, address defects, and ensure adherence to customer specs.
• Health & Safety: Enforce safety rules, conduct risk assessments, manage environmental compliance, and train staff on safety procedures.
• Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, train, coach, and appraise production workers, fostering a positive work environment.
• Operational Efficiency: Monitor processes, identify inefficiencies, coordinate with maintenance, and implement continuous improvement (Kaizen, Lean).
• Inventory & Materials: Coordinate with supply chain for material flow, manage stock, and ensure raw material availability.
• Reporting: Prepare production reports, track metrics (efficiency, output), and communicate performance to management.

Core Skills & Qualifications

• Leadership: Strong people management, performance management, and communication skills.
• Problem-Solving: Analytical skills to resolve production issues and implement solutions.
• Technical: Understanding of manufacturing processes, automation (PLC/CNC), and quality systems (TQM, FMEA).
• Methodologies: Experience with Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methods.
• Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering preferred, plus relevant manufacturing experience.
