Production Manager - Knitting

Looking for a dynamic production and operations manager(knitting) for a D2C brand!

Responsibilities

Production Planning and Coordination

• Develop and implement detailed production schedules in coordination with the sales team.
• Ensure all production milestones are met and adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes.

Vendor Management

• Select and maintain relationships with manufacturers and suppliers.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure the best value without compromising quality.
• Conduct regular assessments and audits of manufacturing partners to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Quality Assurance

• Establish and enforce quality control standards and procedures to ensure all products meet the company’s high standards for safety, durability, and aesthetics.
• Work closely with the design team to ensure that product specifications are clearly communicated and understood by manufacturers.

Inventory and Supply Chain Management

• Monitor inventory levels and manage the flow of goods to ensure the timely delivery of products.

Cost Management

• Develop and manage production budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining product quality.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements within the production cycle.

Problem Solving and Troubleshooting

• Address and resolve any issues that arise during the production process, including delays, quality concerns, and supply shortages.
• Implement corrective actions to prevent the recurrence of issues.

Reporting and Analysis

• Maintain detailed records of production metrics and prepare regular reports for senior management on timelines and weekly dispatch schedules.
• Reconcile goods received against fabric sent for jobwork.
• Identify shortfalls and analyze reasons for discrepancies.
• Allocate major deviations to respective vendors and provide details to the accounts team for vendor payment reconciliation.
• Highlight major deviations and reasons for the same to management.
• Analyze production data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and potential risks.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant production experience in retail/d2c with knits productions
• Good organisational and managerial skills
• Decent computer proficiency and good communication skills
