Job Description

The Elevator Production In-Charge is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the manufacturing and assembly of elevator systems and components. The role ensures production targets are met while maintaining quality standards, safety compliance, and cost efficiency. Key Responsibilities Production & Operations Plan and oversee daily production activities for elevator components and systems. Ensure production schedules are met as per project timelines and customer requirements. Monitor workflow and optimize manpower, machines, and materials. Coordinate with design, procurement, and quality teams to ensure smooth production. Quality ControlEnsure compliance with elevator industry standards, specifications, and safety norms. Implement quality checks at various stages of production. Address non-conformities and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Team ManagementSupervise and guide production supervisors, technicians, and operators. Assign duties, monitor performance, and provide on-the-job training. Maintain discipline, productivity, and a positive work environment. Safety & ComplianceEnsure adherence to workplace safety regulations and statutory requirements. Conduct safety briefings and enforce use of PPE. Promote 5S, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement practices. Material & Inventory ControlCoordinate with stores and procurement for timely availability of raw materials and components. Monitor material consumption and minimize wastage. Maintain production and inventory records. Reporting & DocumentationPrepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports. Track KPIs such as productivity, rejection rate, downtime, and efficiency. Maintain documentation related to production, quality, and safety audits. Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of elevator manufacturing, assembly, and installation processes. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and BOMs. Leadership and people-management skills. Problem-solving and decision-making ability. Familiarity with lean manufacturing and quality tools. Good communication and coordination skills. Qualifications & ExperienceDiploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering. 2-5 years of experience in elevator or related manufacturing industry. Prior experience in a supervisory or in-charge role preferred. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Achievement of production targets. Quality levels and reduction in rework/rejection. Adherence to safety standards. Equipment utilization and downtime reduction. On-time delivery of elevators/projects.
