Role Overview
Head – Film Division
The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth operations, driving continuous improvements, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting future expansion projects including automation and global certifications.
Key Responsibilities
1. Blown Film – Installation & Validation
- Lead the installation, commissioning, and qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) of the new Blown Film line.
- Manage trials, process optimization, and validation as per regulatory requirements.
- Develop SOPs, work instructions, and operator training modules.
- Ensure seamless transition from trials to commercial production.
2. Film Operations & Optimization
- Oversee day-to-day operations of Cast Film and Blown Film lines.
- Monitor production efficiency, uptime, yield, and costs.
- Implement lean manufacturing and productivity improvement initiatives.
3. Cleanroom & Regulatory Compliance
- Enforce strict adherence to cGMP, ISO, and cleanroom practices.
- Maintain documentation for validations, audits, and compliance.
- Collaborate with QA/RA for ISO 13485, ISO 15378, US FDA, EU MDR compliance.
4. Technical Expertise & Troubleshooting
- Work with multilayer film structures (EVA, PE, PP, Nylon, EVOH, SEBS, etc.).
- Troubleshoot defects such as thickness variation, haze, gels, tackiness, or clarity issues.
- Partner with R&D for trials, new product development, and scale-up activities.
5. Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure products meet defined optical, mechanical, and barrier specifications.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA), corrective & preventive actions (CAPA).
- Implement Lean, Kaizen, and OEE enhancement programs.
6. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor a team of operators, supervisors, QC, and support staff.
- Conduct structured training on cleanroom discipline, process excellence, and machine operations.
- Build a performance-driven and accountable culture within the division.
7. Reporting & Strategy
- Track KPIs such as uptime, rejection %, yield, validation progress, and energy efficiency.
- Present operational and project updates to senior management.
- Contribute to long-term strategic initiatives including automation, technology upgrades, and capacity expansion.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related discipline.
7+ years’ experience in film extrusion (Cast & Blown Film)
, with minimum 3 years in a leadership/managerial role.- Proven expertise in installation, commissioning, and validation of extrusion lines.
- Prior exposure to
medical packaging / cleanroom environments
is highly preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership, project execution, and team development abilities.
- Hands-on expertise in Cast & Blown Film processes.
- Familiarity with international quality & regulatory standards.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Exposure to
automation, Industry 4.0 practices, and ERP/MES systems
is an added advantage. - Ability to drive change, lead cross-functional teams, and foster continuous improvement.
