Product Owner – Fintech SaaS (Freemium Model)

About the Role:

We’re looking for an entrepreneurial and strategic Product Owner to lead the development of our next-gen Fintech SaaS platform. This role requires someone who has built a product from scratch, understands the SaaS freemium model, and can define feature access between free vs paid tiers with strong product intuition and user empathy.

You will work closely with the founders, engineering, design, marketing, and customer success teams to shape the product roadmap, build the MVP, and continuously evolve the platform based on user feedback and business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the end-to-end product lifecycle — from discovery and MVP to scale and monetization.
• Define and prioritize the product roadmap, backlog, and feature releases with a clear business and user lens.
• Create a robust freemium-to-paid upgrade strategy, determining which features drive value and which convert users.
• Collaborate with design & engineering to deliver user-centric experiences for both SME users and enterprise teams.
• Use product analytics, user interviews, and competitive research to make data-informed decisions.
• Write clear PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria, and manage sprint planning with the tech team.
• Define and monitor key product metrics such as activation rate, retention, usage frequency, and upgrade conversions.
• Act as the voice of the customer to align features with user pain points and business impact.
• Continuously benchmark with other SaaS/fintech freemium products to identify growth opportunities.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner / Product Manager in a Fintech SaaS environment.
• Proven experience in building a product from scratch and taking it through multiple releases.
• Strong understanding of freemium models, SaaS pricing tiers, and user behavior that drives upgrades.
• Ability to translate product vision into actionable features with a balance of user value and technical feasibility.
• Hands-on experience working with JIRA, Figma, product analytics tools (like Mixpanel, GA, Amplitude).
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to align across cross-functional teams.
• Passion for solving real problems for MSMEs or finance-focused audiences.

Good to Have:

• Prior experience in cash flow, invoicing, payments, or finance automation products.
• Understanding of India’s SME ecosystem and their tech adoption behavior.
• Exposure to A/B testing, product-led growth (PLG), or in-app engagement tools (e.g., Pendo, Appcues).
