About The Function
MMT Growth & Commons Function at MakeMyTrip is responsible for building common product experiences for our users such as Homepage, Cross-sell products, Loyalty program, Login & Onboarding, Wallet, Offers, and so on. This team focuses on growth — be it new user acquisition, activating never-transacted customers, retention, etc. As a horizontal product team in the organization, the team works with all other business units very closely to deliver seamless and scalable user experiences.
About The Role
The Product Manager role in the Growth & Commons team at MakeMyTrip is a high impact, strategic position at the core of our platform experience. This role is central to shaping critical, high-traffic user journeys—from the Homepage and Login to Wallets, Offers, and our Loyalty Program—touchpoints that influence the experience of every MakeMyTrip user.This role plays a pivotal part in driving MakeMyTrip’s growth charter, with direct influence on key levers such as new user acquisition, user activation, retention, and cross-sell effectiveness. As a part of a mature, scaled platform serving millions over 25+ years, this role requires a nuanced balance of creative product thinking, user empathy, and data rigor.Operating at the intersection of user experience, platform design, and business growth, the position offers the opportunity to reimagine foundational user flows in online travel. It demands strong ownership, cross-functional influence, and a mindset tuned toward long-term impact and platform scalability.
What Will You Be Doing
- Own the Product Lifecycle: Drive end-to-end product development—from discovery and conceptualization to launch and ongoing enhancements.
- Define the Roadmap: Shape and manage the product roadmap aligned with business goals and user needs.
- Build Cross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with engineering, design, marketing, and other stakeholders to translate product vision into executable plans.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Analyze product performance post-launch, gather feedback, and iterate to enhance user experience and business impact.
- Identify Growth Opportunities: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to uncover emerging trends and whitespace opportunities.
- Translate Ideas into Action: Develop detailed product requirements, including user stories, wireframes, and specifications.
- Validate with Users: Support user testing and feedback loops to ensure the product resonates with real-world use cases.
- Measure Success: Define and track key product metrics (KPIs) to evaluate performance and guide future decisions.
- Stay Ahead of the Curve: Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and evolving technologies to inform product strategy.
Qualification & Experience
- Engineering or Management graduate from reputed institute with 2 to 5 years of experience in product management role for a consumer facing, technology enabled business/product.
Key Success Factors for the Role
- You will need a very customer-first mindset. Example: how can you make our homepage better for the user without impacting business metrics?
- Be comfortable with web analytics and, to some extent, SQL. You should be able to roll up your sleeves when it comes to pulling out data.
- You should be comfortable with technology and be able to build a basic block diagram of how a feature can potentially work.
- Meticulous in execution. Can you scope down a complex product on the fly to meet a GTM deadline? Can you wireframe and not depend on designers all the time?
- Super communication skills. You will be presenting to top leadership from time to time.
- Ability to craft a compelling product narrative/roadmap while incorporating feedback from multiple stakeholders.
